I think I've watched just that scene a bit over a dozen times. XD
I adore how it ends, with Obi-wan catching him.
Have you seen Kanan's jedi reveal?
The build up made it so damned satisfying
The Maul vs Obi-Wan duel is the best duel in the franchise
Hrm, no I haven't. @Sarahdale
It's basically the first episode of Rebels
@Laucivol I read some very nerdy review of that episode going into detail how they paid attention and Obiwan is at first subonsciously taking his old fighting stance before catching himself and using the (in this series) new one that he's used in A New Hope. That is a really nice attention to detail.
But it relies heavily on the rest of the franchise to be amazing
Bah, I'm gonna have to get Disney plus, aren't I?
Or, if you have the internet, you can get it elsewhere
I'd ask in the harbor
Eh, my piracy days are over.
I am too old for such things.
He's using the stance Qui-Gon used in episode 1 as a bait for Maul
They duel in full before the sabers even clash.
And he took the bait, used the same move he defeated Qui-Gon with, except that this time Obi-Wan had the counter
Yeah. That duel is amazing
Which, that fact - the battle is won or lost before it is enjoined - is what makes it so damn amazing.
Agreed
It was also reminiscent of old samurai films

@Laucivol the scene I was refering to earlier. Honest, that sole scene sold me on Rebels
Yeah, I see why.
Damnit.
I don't want a streaming service. q.q
Too bad it's filled with shit episodes between the good ones
Any series is.
For some seasons it's almost 80% shit episodes
what did you think of the whirly dirly lighrtsabers
rbels looks like ass
Honestly, art-style discrepancies I'll handwave if it gets the point across.
@Flavius Stilicho honestly? At first I though it was stupid but they didn't bothered me as much after a while
that helicopter move those inquisitors pulled broke my immersion hard
Oh yeah except for that helicopter move. That was stupid
Methinks it was harkening to Grevious.
Flying with them was pure retardation
blade can spin heli away NO
Yeah that's basically what I meant
But having them spin like this makes some sense
Clearly it was Force use, not by the blade (unless I missed something in the clips I've seen which is absolutely possible).
You can go from a bind to slicing the guy in half by using that function
Doing tricksy things like that has always been a Dark sider's thing.
