IFKR?

2019-12-03 00:43:50 UTC

I don't care how short it is. This is one of the best duels in SW

2019-12-03 00:43:55 UTC

I think I've watched just that scene a bit over a dozen times. XD

2019-12-03 00:44:16 UTC

I adore how it ends, with Obi-wan catching him.

2019-12-03 00:44:50 UTC

Have you seen Kanan's jedi reveal?

The build up made it so damned satisfying

2019-12-03 00:46:07 UTC

The Maul vs Obi-Wan duel is the best duel in the franchise

2019-12-03 00:46:14 UTC

Hrm, no I haven't. @Sarahdale

2019-12-03 00:46:28 UTC

It's basically the first episode of Rebels

2019-12-03 00:46:37 UTC

@Laucivol I read some very nerdy review of that episode going into detail how they paid attention and Obiwan is at first subonsciously taking his old fighting stance before catching himself and using the (in this series) new one that he's used in A New Hope. That is a really nice attention to detail.

2019-12-03 00:46:39 UTC

But it relies heavily on the rest of the franchise to be amazing

2019-12-03 00:46:56 UTC

Bah, I'm gonna have to get Disney plus, aren't I?

2019-12-03 00:47:10 UTC

Or, if you have the internet, you can get it elsewhere

2019-12-03 00:47:14 UTC

I'd ask in the harbor

2019-12-03 00:47:53 UTC

Eh, my piracy days are over.

2019-12-03 00:48:16 UTC

I am too old for such things.

2019-12-03 00:48:24 UTC

He's using the stance Qui-Gon used in episode 1 as a bait for Maul

2019-12-03 00:48:42 UTC

They duel in full before the sabers even clash.

2019-12-03 00:48:57 UTC

And he took the bait, used the same move he defeated Qui-Gon with, except that this time Obi-Wan had the counter

2019-12-03 00:50:01 UTC

Yeah. That duel is amazing

2019-12-03 00:50:46 UTC

Which, that fact - the battle is won or lost before it is enjoined - is what makes it so damn amazing.

2019-12-03 00:51:59 UTC

Agreed

2019-12-03 00:52:23 UTC

It was also reminiscent of old samurai films

@Laucivol the scene I was refering to earlier. Honest, that sole scene sold me on Rebels

2019-12-03 00:54:30 UTC

Yeah, I see why.

2019-12-03 00:54:33 UTC

Damnit.

2019-12-03 00:54:46 UTC

I don't want a streaming service. q.q

2019-12-03 00:55:03 UTC

Too bad it's filled with shit episodes between the good ones

2019-12-03 00:55:16 UTC

Any series is.

2019-12-03 00:55:43 UTC

For some seasons it's almost 80% shit episodes

2019-12-03 00:55:51 UTC

what did you think of the whirly dirly lighrtsabers

2019-12-03 00:56:26 UTC

rbels looks like ass

2019-12-03 00:56:29 UTC

Honestly, art-style discrepancies I'll handwave if it gets the point across.

2019-12-03 00:56:56 UTC

@Flavius Stilicho honestly? At first I though it was stupid but they didn't bothered me as much after a while

2019-12-03 00:56:59 UTC

that helicopter move those inquisitors pulled broke my immersion hard

2019-12-03 00:57:18 UTC

Oh yeah except for that helicopter move. That was stupid

2019-12-03 00:57:50 UTC

Methinks it was harkening to Grevious.

2019-12-03 00:57:57 UTC

Flying with them was pure retardation

2019-12-03 00:57:58 UTC

blade can spin heli away NO

2019-12-03 00:58:13 UTC

Yeah that's basically what I meant

2019-12-03 00:58:14 UTC

But having them spin like this makes some sense

2019-12-03 00:58:51 UTC

Clearly it was Force use, not by the blade (unless I missed something in the clips I've seen which is absolutely possible).
