In other news, I have seen and touched the actual ovens that were used to bake some jews. In Dachau.
@lunemarie
Learn to speak postmodernist
And that’s when postmodernism can win you an argument against communists
My problem is when they tell you you can't question anything. I'm perfectly willing to believe 6 million but I don't like being told I can't question things
u dont have to be a postmodernist
u could just as well write it to hermeticism
<- Is a hermetic deist
Eh?
I don't understand "Facts matter to outcomes but not to persuasion".
Not everyone will just listen to facts alone.
I even think it was 6 million. I don't really see why anyone would exaggerate the number, but I also want people to get to the truth, whatever that may be
I mean use the Socratic method and you’ll find it all comes down to feelings which aren’t any less constructs than what they judge
But good luck trying to come at reality with anything but facts.
@cara112 Meaning people are innately irrational and make decisions based on feelz, but use reason and logic to justify their decision post-facto. Sam Harris and Ben Shapiro are basically wrong in their worldview. People aren't inherently rational, nor are they generally persuaded by it.
If people were rational, you could just show them a charge and there'd be no problems in the world
feelings aren't facts?
then why can't we talk about touchy subjects <:spurdo:500782204788670474>
It's not what you say, but how you say it
So, he's right?
God damn it
Facts DO care about your feelings
I use the example of: People can't hear that "2+2=4" over the sound of they think you're a Nazi.
igen!
Socrates was a faggot
That's an exageration on both accounts, SimonTV
To be clear, facts matter to outcomes, meaning it's important to have the facts on your side, but how you change people's minds is by connecting with them at an emotional level through what's known as pacing.
Oh god, that fucking YouTuber
Can you not, ST
I'm not clicking that
Have you ever visited Utah and what did you think of it?
It was shit.
Why?
