so not only do we want to have our biological needs met, but we also want to create a "safty net", in case something goes wrong
That seems that human nature has a whole lot of assumed concepts of morality going into it.
However if morality is subjective we still havent answered why not be this other way, when its clear that we gain all advantages possible this immoral way.
Some would say there is conscience that is a function to keep us from doing wrong, but then we are assuming wrong exists and can be defined in some way.
The way I see it, no matter how we look at it, morality is an objective fact of our existence.
although i do need to read up on the proper proofs of it
since I know there are some that are quite interesting and also describe reality apart from the metaphysical (as in explain what we see in the world apart from staying metaphysical)
Although I believe in the old gods of Germania (Odin, Thor, Freya, etc.) I do not believe in the afterlife.
HAHAHA
THE FUCKING OLD GODS
They arent real
I believe that the gods exist in a sort of hierarchy with us. They have dominion over us, similar to our relationship with animals. Even though they are gods, they are often represented as very human in their behaviour. We ourselves can see that we are often animalistic in *our* behaviour.
I believe that such structures are much more realistic than the notion of some all-mighty godly father who makes us all suffer greatly just to pass his test (a test that makes no sense because he presumably created our soul or our being and made us wander the earth. Thus, our flaws are his fault)
can you prove it
No.
then why do you believe this to be true
"Magic" is just science we don't understand yet. Long ago, people believed that things were magical that we now understand as logical scientific processes.
yes
There are enough signs to point us slightly in the direction that divinity may exist
such as?
Magic is for heathens and pagans.
Same thing.
I mean we know how the universe came about
(I believe that this might be a subconcsious effort to allow me to cope with the world by finding hope in gods)
o
Unlike most christians, I don't believe the divine was omnipresent. I believe that it too was created by the big bang
Something spiritual and non material cannot be created.
I used to be *very* atheist but it gave me no resolution. With this faith, I have a set of values that helps me better resolve internal conflict.
@Deleted User I do not believe it to be non material
that is why I don't believe in an afterlife
i managed to do that without faith
Spiritualism and materialism are not connected.
Well I also have issues so yeah having something to guide me just a little bit is just fine for me thanks
Why are you pagan, paganism isnt an universal religion, its folk culture taken to fanatical level that has no desire for progress or answers.
I'm not entirely sure whether to call it spiritualism. Honestly. I don't think these "Gods" are some metaphysical entity. I believe that they are very much material just far from what we can comprehend. Animals can't comprehend human psychology, why should we be able to comprehend what we call gods?
Paganism allows for progress much more than christianity.
Pagans didnt have progress because didnt see need for it or desire.
We don't have some ancient book that tells us to hate gays
We dont need an ancient book to apply basic biology and natural order.
That book only makes it clear.
If there is no need for progress and no desire (I'm talking about society right now), there should be no progress
You are mistaking advancements for progress.
And new things.
If the entire world didn't want gay marriage, why should it be implemented? (I'm not against gay marriage)
