The lake of fire doesn't destroy hell
I dont think he implied tha5
14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Rev 20:14-15
The second death and names not written in the book of life being thrown into the lale of fire is the important part to understanding it.
Vs 11-15 talk about the final judgement
What religions/denominations does everyone hold?
Catholic
Interesting
Baptist Gang
I hold to the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod
No religion in politics, everyone should be able to believe in whatever they want to (unless it’s some predatory cult shit like Scientology) as long as they keep it out of politics @Shalopy
That would just lead to forms of Christianity disguising themselves as secular to gain power, like we saw from progressivism
Hence the need for frequent purges of the government
Revelation 6:8
Purges wouldn't help, you just have no understanding of how ideology and politics work
Well if you say so bud.
What I said was pretty bare bones so can understand if there may be some confusion
@Maksim assuming the christian god exists, what about him existing means you have to obey/serve/worship him
@Gromp all belief, traditions, thought, etc relies on socially developed axioms. You don't exist in a philosophical or intellectual vacuum. Everything even down to language itself carries metaphysical baggage. What you are doing by denying X religion is propping up another tradition while assuming it's not a tradition.
I’m not denying any religion? I don’t have anything against Scientology’s beliefs (however batshit they may be) I have sth against their practice of inducting people into their weird ass cult and abuse them. Now of course all religions may have people doing that I just thought it was a good example @Eoppa
@Gromp I'm talking about your prohibition on mixing religious beliefs and the state
<@&588707615643795456> Daily Question ✝️
- What is your view on predestination? Do we have free will to choose our path or our decisions predetermined since God knows everything?
Foreknowledge doesn't contradict free will is my interpretation
I believe Molinism is the name of that doctrine
The Norns spin the threads of fate at the foot of Yggdrasill, the tree of the world. Beneath them is the well Urðarbrunnr with the two swans that have engendered all the swans in the world.
not sure
we have free will id say but in a sense were all sorta destined
because theres really two things that make our personality
our genes
and all the outside impacts we had in our lifes right
Well I believe our conciousness is heavily dependent on the material, but there is an "uncaused" factor that is free will.
@Eoppa so why wouldn't he make us all with the knowledge of his existance?
i mean that yea thats possible i guess
We have free will in terms of our everyday life, but not in terms of coming to Christ.
