English isnt english. its a conglomerate of words from multicultural sources.
words come from french spanish japanese italian russian etc
Pretty much all cultures with intelligence will find words from their language i english
This is why phonetic spelling dies
French german latin greek.
@Deleted User ye, respect native lsnguage, its funny because Russian language tried making concessions to German and French and Russan now is the most distant slavic language from all the languages of the Slavic world, for example, Ukrainian, which is my native, used to be be far closer to Ukro pre-Peter I, but it has obsorb alot of German and French shit and now is vry unrecognizable to me
English is one of the easiest languages there are
@MaoDidNothingWrong ive found not
English makes little sense
English does have a lot of exceptions in terms of grammar and vocabulary
the only thing easy of it is the way to nakew everything a verb with little effort
But the sheer amount of exposure you receive on daily basis and sheer amount of resources makes it easier
Also as you said it has almost zero conjugation
what im confused avout tho is how did England come from Aegland (Old English)?
how tf did old english butcher itself over centuries
@G a b e גבריאל Greece and Syria? Actually, it's a form of capitalism with social benefits. They're being used in some of the greatest countries, including many European (especially Scandinavian) countries and countries in Oceania (NZ, Australia), which are also doing very well. But I suppose most super-developed countries are when compared to the U.S.
Oh wait... was that directed at someone else? Oops lol

@President Sanders📍🇺🇸 so it doesn't matter who is in a country, who it's run by and for, the standard of living, and the health of the population as long as the GDP grows and the economy's going good?
Absolutely not. The U.S. standard of living, healthcare, education, etc. isn't great, but the economy is doing well and unemployment is low (although workers are underpaid).
People imo put too much stock in things like that and the stock market, etc. A lot of factors go into what makes a country great, and one particular thing doesn't guarantee anything. @Bruni
Unemployment doesn't include those that aren't looking for work anymore. The real (combined) unemployment number is closer to 20% as opposed to, what 3~4%
Does it not matter if by some method the whole of the Israeli population were replaced with Mexicans? Would it still be Israel at that point?
It doesn't really matter in my opinion. I consider us all humans with the same upsides and downsides.
Israel isn't even Israel. It's a piece of land that humans drew borders on to create a country.
Unless they elected to change the name and join Mexico, yes. That’s how nations work.
^this
If we're being technical
Exactly.
A nation is technically just a geographical region with an autonomous government.
Not much more than that if you really push it down to bare bones essentials.
And the definitions of the geographical region by name and custom are defined by the population of that area deemed citizens by pre-existing custom created by previous citizens.
Ergo if a bunch of Mexican suddenly replaced everyone in Israel, given they had Israeli citizenship, they would be Israeli and citizens of Israel. They may then change the name and allegiance of Israel. If they are not citizens and attempt to do so, Israel will remain Israel.
@DrRisen no
A nation is a large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language
That occupy an area
A nation-state is the government aspect of a nation
A country is not a nation, a country has no common culture or history or language
A country would be the United States in it's current form
The U.S is *not* a nation
