**Psalm 127:2 - Good News Translation (GNT)**

```Dust
<2> It is useless to work so hard for a living, getting up early and going to bed late. For the Lord provides for those he loves, while they are asleep. ```
2019-08-22 07:05:30 UTC
**Leviticus 19:33-34 - King James Version (KJV)**
```Dust

<33> And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. <34> But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God. ```

Sojourn is meant as a temporary stay, the hebrew word means the same and it is translated properly here in the KJV. The idea is that as the Israelites were travelling to their promised land that they had to ask many nations to allow them to sojourn in their land in order to get where they needed. @Sandaledfungus4

@everyone Daily Question 🔖

- What's the ultimate goal a government should strive for and why? How would they achieve this goal?

2019-08-23 23:10:52 UTC

Didn’t someone ask this before?

2019-08-23 23:11:11 UTC

@Maksim the ultimate goal of government ought to be to work itself out of a job.

2019-08-23 23:11:15 UTC

To subsidize my tendies addiction, this should be achieved by taking everyone else's tendies and giving them to me.

2019-08-23 23:12:03 UTC

The ultimate goal of the state is the wellbeing of the citizenry. How this is achieved? Who knows

2019-08-23 23:12:03 UTC

Hard work.

2019-08-23 23:12:20 UTC

@Zachary the state != The government

2019-08-23 23:12:24 UTC

The goal of government is to control those under it, it achieves such through coercion <:depress:591181860420321280>

2019-08-23 23:12:36 UTC

@kwit_dat_Stalin again that's the state

2019-08-23 23:12:42 UTC

Damn autocorrect

2019-08-23 23:12:42 UTC

Hayha you don't own the words

2019-08-23 23:12:53 UTC

We don't have to use your esoteric definitions

2019-08-23 23:13:06 UTC

It's presumes that the only reason people would do the right thing is through conversion.

2019-08-23 23:13:07 UTC

@Maksim The purpose of the government is to protect its people and their sense of identity, in addition to advancing their interests and providing an acceptable quality of life to those within its borders

2019-08-23 23:15:05 UTC

It's esoteric, but true. How do you think these packets reach you? The state? No, an organization who decided the standards. We simply choose to obey them. @Zachary

2019-08-23 23:15:43 UTC
