It keeps going up every couple years

2019-10-22 19:08:14 UTC

Yes I know with the productivity

2019-10-22 19:08:16 UTC

Probably Europe

2019-10-22 19:08:20 UTC

Not US tho

2019-10-22 19:08:22 UTC

Yes I'm in Europe

2019-10-22 19:08:34 UTC

I'm answering from a Bavarian perspective because that's all I know personally

2019-10-22 19:08:43 UTC

How do you expect me to answer

2019-10-22 19:09:00 UTC

U.S. minimum wage? Yeah it's too low

2019-10-22 19:09:15 UTC

Way too low considering there isn't guarantee of benefits and time off

2019-10-22 19:09:39 UTC

Benefits and paid time off are something rare in the US

2019-10-22 19:10:33 UTC

I'm more in favor of better guarantees of benefits than raising some arbitrary number that will also raise cost of living

2019-10-22 19:10:34 UTC

Fuck, in Germany it's 3 or 4 weeks

2019-10-22 19:10:46 UTC

Median Income has not risen with inflation

2019-10-22 19:11:36 UTC

I love how capitalism worshippers say "but if you raise minium wage corporations will just raise prices and inflation!!!!!!! :((((("

2019-10-22 19:12:05 UTC

No they won't. We'll force them not to. You know why? Because they're already underpaying.

2019-10-22 19:12:14 UTC

In the US at least

2019-10-22 19:15:29 UTC

in the end, corporations managed to get higher profits without paying that back

2019-10-22 19:15:48 UTC

I don't think American communism is happening anytime soon though

2019-10-22 19:17:59 UTC

@Notso That's not communism

2019-10-22 19:18:01 UTC

It's Justice.

Proverbs 29:4

2019-10-22 19:18:33 UTC

**Proverbs 29:4 - Good News Translation (GNT)**

```Dust
<4> When the king is concerned with justice, the nation will be strong, but when he is only concerned with money, he will ruin his country. ```
2019-10-22 19:21:10 UTC
@Maksim Heres my idea
2019-10-22 19:21:22 UTC
Demand that companies raise their wage annually
2019-10-22 19:21:28 UTC
ban mass layoffs
2019-10-22 19:21:32 UTC
but don't set the wage itself
2019-10-22 19:22:33 UTC
I didn't say it was
2019-10-22 19:22:40 UTC
When did I say it was
2019-10-22 19:22:58 UTC
Also Christianity is a cult
2019-10-22 19:23:29 UTC
I want communism in the end
2019-10-22 19:29:48 UTC
Yang gang we yang gang we yang gang we YANG GANG!!!
2019-10-22 19:30:56 UTC
There’s a law that was passed in the late 70’s early 80’s in the US that I think really screwed our wage growth let me@find it
2019-10-22 19:46:21 UTC
It was when this guy John Shad under Ronald Reagan removed some rules from the 1934 securities exchange act preventing companies from doing stock buy backs
2019-10-22 19:47:20 UTC
Before the law was changed companies spent less than a percent of their profits on stock dividends and stock buy backs and instead spent it all on wages and investment into the company.
2019-10-22 19:47:53 UTC
Up to the 2007 recession when some of the biggest companies were spending over half their profits in stock buy backs
Something to think about
2019-10-22 20:13:15 UTC
idk if its true that people earn to little, i think that artificial scarcity is making essential goods far more expensive than they should be
