The 2nd one has nothing to do with flat eath
Neither does the 3rd one
Neither does the 4th
It calls the earth immovable
It’s referring to it as a forced object
No physically, not once does it refer to earth immovable as physically immovable
It is talking about God's reign over earth
that it will never be moved
That earth was created, and it will never *not* be earth
Christians held that belief however, it comes from Ptolemy which was deeply ingrained in European culture
So was their brilliant understanding of medicine
Christians held that belief does not mean it was inherently a Christian belief.
This was a scientific endeavor, not a theological one.
It was scientific belief, not a Christian belief.
Anyways i must go, @Gromp feel free to respond and ill respond once im back.
Nice Chat.
Spook discussion I see
yeh as far as im aware the belief in the flat earth was never part of christian doctrine and those bible quotes as maksim explained, do not say the earth is flat or that heliocentrism is wrong, the belief in the flat earth was fringe within christianity
from what i know flat earth and geocentrism is based in ancient astrology and mysticism
Flat earth thing was a dumb protestant thing
yeh it was classic prot stuff tbh
''um i dont understand this greek stuff so im just going to form my own interpretation''
@Spergerger But didn’t the Flat Earth myth primarily derive from a mathematical dispute occurring between Columbus and the royal government?
Specifically, the dispute was focused on the distance that it would take to get from Southern Europe to India.
no
@Zoltanous Depends on what you mean when you say "Protestant"
not even close
nearly all scholars and aristocrats knew the earth was round since Pythagoras from 500 BC
thats like calling Hitler a christian
Galileo was very deep in occultism (which is forbidden in Christianity)
k
Yeah Galileo was put under house arrest for being a freak
@Fed#4895 bruh
@Fed#4895
i
o
Labour death squads now
They’d probably end up feeling so guilty they’d shoot themselves.
"Why has the oppressed proletariat not come to its senses and joined you in your fight for world liberation? [...] [Because] they know that your antiquated styles of protest – your marches, hand held signs, and gatherings – are now powerless to effect real change because they have become such a predictable part of the status quo. They know that your post-Marxist jargon is off-putting because it really is a language of mere academic dispute, not a weapon capable of undermining systems of control..."
