Because a lot of Europeans just do not practice, or feel any thought toward religion in particular

2019-06-17 04:39:04 UTC

It's the Permissive will of God. He would rather we chose Him rather than were forced to choose Him.

^

2019-06-17 04:39:10 UTC

I didn't until recently

2019-06-17 04:39:11 UTC

The only justifiable argument anyone can make against God is if they attack the very nature of consciousness itself ex. the measurement problem in quantum physics. If you take it that everything is essentially a dream and reality as a whole is not real, sure.

2019-06-17 04:39:24 UTC

Who are you asking, @Notso?

2019-06-17 04:39:31 UTC

But if you think we all live in the same reality and it's real then it's obvious God exists.

2019-06-17 04:39:33 UTC

You

2019-06-17 04:39:59 UTC

Well I'm American, I guess I can only speak for myself and any atheists I have had direct conversations with, of which the vast majority are also American.

2019-06-17 04:40:03 UTC

The universe did not come from nothing.

2019-06-17 04:40:24 UTC

So I have a question for you, I’m just curious

2019-06-17 04:40:27 UTC

Sure

2019-06-17 04:40:48 UTC

XD

2019-06-17 04:40:52 UTC

Is the „Bible Belt“ actually full of protties that act like they’re the most righteous thing on the planet because they pray a certain way

2019-06-17 04:41:01 UTC

@⍟luminance So If something exists it necessitates that specifically the Abrahamic God created it?

2019-06-17 04:41:09 UTC

The universe, specifically.

2019-06-17 04:41:25 UTC

That's a massive assumption on your part, in my opinion

2019-06-17 04:41:28 UTC

It implies *a* god or gods created it

2019-06-17 04:41:33 UTC

The only religion that has ample evidence is Christianity.

2019-06-17 04:41:35 UTC

@Notso sometimes

2019-06-17 04:41:47 UTC

I’ve read a lot of the Luther bible and it doesn’t seem anything special

2019-06-17 04:41:50 UTC

Aquinas's fourth way iirc

2019-06-17 04:42:09 UTC

Not even really in my opinion historians agree Jesus existed and the text from that period and area all align with the bible's claims.

2019-06-17 04:42:18 UTC

The universe for it to have been created would have needed immeasurable amounts of energy to do

2019-06-17 04:42:28 UTC

@Notso I would say it's a lot of that and a lot of Boomer religion: "I go to church every Sunday dressed in overalls and a shitty Wal-Mart tee-shirt and I think Jesus is fuckin' cool"

2019-06-17 04:42:36 UTC

Genesis 1:16 Luther

2019-06-17 04:42:36 UTC

**Genesis 1:16 - New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)**

```Dust
<16> God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars. ```
2019-06-17 04:42:43 UTC
No
2019-06-17 04:42:49 UTC
No one here probably likes boomers
2019-06-17 04:42:59 UTC
Nothing can create itself
2019-06-17 04:43:12 UTC
So either the Universe is uncreated, or something created it
2019-06-17 04:43:12 UTC
We're all basically trash sinners and we all know it and I hope we all resent it but we are weak.
2019-06-17 04:43:15 UTC
The Bible belt is very white but it also paradoxically is rather low in average IQ.
2019-06-17 04:43:20 UTC
I've lived in it my whole life
2019-06-17 04:43:25 UTC
Luckily God is a merciful God.
2019-06-17 04:43:30 UTC
I would say the average intelligence here is somewhere around 95
2019-06-17 04:43:40 UTC
*Und Gott machte zwei große Lichter: ein großes Licht, das den Tag regiere, und ein kleines Licht, das die Nacht regiere, dazu auch die Sterne.*
This is the type of thing I mean by mistranslation or misunderstanding
2019-06-17 04:43:46 UTC
I'm Mensa cardholding BTW
2019-06-17 04:43:47 UTC
Yeah and we are not even getting into the argument how how and endless void could somehow create matter
2019-06-17 04:43:52 UTC
This is *not* able to be used to disprove god
2019-06-17 04:44:02 UTC
>endless void
