I don't experience fear in dreams. I think it's a natural part of working with dreams and similar liminal states (e.g. psychedelics)
This is true. Easier said than done of course, but it is necessary.
Especially when working with psychedelics--that fear is removed from the experience.
Not with Salvia, which is why it is my favorite
It doesn't coddle you with any kind of euphoric feelings. It's just a raw ego death
That was my first ever real trip was a breakthrough Salvia experience
Though I'd been there before, funny enough
😩 Lord you're one of those. It's very difficult for me to get a grip on those experiences, which is why I haven't done Salvia.
The Goddess, which would be Wisdom itself I'd assume, who presides over Salvia, is very unforgiving.
You remind me of a wise friend and mentor of mine.
Salvia is his native world, it would seem.
I like to call him Yajnavalkya of Veda lol.
At the beginning of the month, I astral projected three times. One had me bulleting through a parking garage down at the oceanfront somewhere, darting straight into the air and falling, tumbling dizzyingly from above into the ocean at several hundred miles an hour and plunging down into the ocean, continuing under without a decrease in speed. I could see the houses and buildings around the coast as I was coming down.
I could feel the temperature and texture of the water as things became darker, and then I came-to and awoke in my bed.
I've had a similar one to this. Went straight out my window into the sky outside above my neighbourhood and into the sunlight before coming back.
How many times did you practice till you officially astral projected?
Others have been in black and white, and I'm floating aimlessly in an indiscernible location for which, only abstract textures and some signatures of sensory, and vague geometry are my company.
I've only had one induced astral projection.
@Misha It's easier with a psych or dissociative, but can be done endogenously
I came out of my body, went in my parents' room and sat on the bed/heard and watched them sleep.
I( feel like psychs and dissos can be tools to help teach you and wire your brain for achieving those states
That was a while ago.
I can leave my body pretty easily but I've found it takes time to get deep enough for that state
Neurologically it's associated with theta EEG rhythms as a correlate
Whereas earlier meditation phases tend to be more alpha dominant
+++
When I induced a projection, I used theta frequencies as supplementary to the meditation.
I fell asleep, woke up that same night having failed, and then tried it again
The same night, popped right out of body
Around 6am
One of my most interesting experiences was being lucid in Slow Wave sleep
I'd read about it in ancient hindu texts -- iirc the Yoga sutras of Patanjali
Care to share the experience itself, or some descriptions of the qualia within the state/through use of the method?
Ok sure. Weird method was basically a ton of mucuna prurients (l-dopa) for a couple days, at which time I was ojn a prescription NDRI, bupropion. So lots of dopamine
Had this INTENSE religious experience on it out of almost nowhere lol
So I hadn't really slept in a couple days, despite not being super stimmed out. (mucuna is interesting in that it's not jittery or anything, just clear headed. Doesn't quite feel like a full on stim, but will keep you awake through a night)
When I finally got to sleep, I stayed lucid into REM. Periodically I'd get "sleepy" in the lucid dream, and lie down. That was when I was cylcing from REM to slow wave sleep
It's a gentle grey place. Mental activity is more thoughtlike and thought based. Some geometry to it though
So basically I used sleep deprivation to catalyze it
I see. Was it the Mucuna that kind of helped you peddle enough 'wakefulness' to remain conscious into the lucid, or was it the state given to you after the effects of Mucuna had passed--that strange alertness embedded within the sleep depravation itself?
Interesting question and I'm not sure. The Mucuna was so gentle. Now, the NDRI changes it by inhibiting dopamine reuptake. You could probably use phenylpiracetam for that aspect
