Do you prefer to focus on being or non being?
Also do u think ssris are inherently bad for spiritual growth?
Depends on the intent of the focus. Buddhist tradition even has uses for meditating on that which neither "is" nor "isn't". As for SSRI's, I can't really give an educated opinion.
I would like someone other than Lucia to read me.
Wait shit
wrong channel
my bad.
@Doragon What @J.T. said is correct. To be quite honest with you it doesn't necessarily matter (in terms of focusing on all being or non being), unless you happen to be Buddhist. Committing to either path to it's mystical fulfillment is difficult, but to commit to the understanding of the Monad through non being would require almost immediately some serious detachment from material affairs.
Also, if you want my personal advice, from a brief experience, do not take SSRIs
At all.
In fact, it's generally imperative that meditations are performed in sobriety, so as to ascertain the 'temperature' within various states of consciousness.
And, so that the mind is not turbulent, and can be adequately centered.
The effects of meditations are not purely psychological; they cause very noticeable physiological changes as well.
The operations can raise body temperature and cause various impactful chemical reactions within the brain.
Yeah I'm aware of the effects. I used to be really into Paramahansa Yogananda
One such instance, I recall reading, a Jewish man is now on treatment after his practice of TDM for some reason removed his ability to properly digest food.
Just wondering if there's a known problem for people trying to get in touch with spiritual or esoteric layers while they might be on ssris or other medications for whatever reason
Generally yes. SSRIs and antipsychotics
From what I've seen and experienced.
So how can u tell a psychotic episode from a religious experience?
If you're taking an SSRI for depression, I'd recommend you stop and try to solve these issues by yourself.
I'm not
*u tell a psychotic episode from a religious experience?*
Well, you could start by asking yourself if you're in control.
Lol
They gave me some when I asked for a fast acting benzodiazepan for random anxiety attacks
But I'm not a fan of stuff u need to take long term
You need to face those anxiety attacks head on.
And they will go away.
I face my darkest fears in lucid dreams
When I'm in class I just wanna focus on the math
I had recurring panic attacks, even during the time when I practiced Kundalini.
Have you tried any meditation or technique to control your panic attacks?
This is going to sound quackish, but eat more meat and face the attacks head on.
They will go away, and generally speaking they're growing pains.
Literally in every nightmare I have I force myself to face whatever monster or thing is causing the nightmare
