on all big compound movements
try to get to at least 80% 1rm
or just do 5x5
I do 5x5 75-80%
So for my bench I'll do 5 sets of 5 reps of 80% my max (70kg max bench, so 5 reps of 56kg)
If I feel good, I'll take it up 5kg or so and see if I can still go for 5x5
Then add 5kg every week to that 1rm
To all 3 lifts

I always try to up the weight on my lifts each week
The point is the weight will progress faster than you can gain strength so eventually you won't be able to 1rm the weight anymore
So if you 1rm 60kg and add until you get to 75k and you can't 1rm, then you go back to 60kg and start again
For bench
But try to work up to the 1rm
Also, what would you guys recommend for building traps? Mine are getting nowhere tbh
