Nationalism in and of itself doesnβt require it but forms of nationalism are highly autarkic which does if it is to improve its standard of living
I can say in regards to the Nationalist dictatorship of Portugal (*Estado Novo*) not once was there ever a thought of war over anything other than protecting it's colonies.
Idk too much about Francoist Spain but I can't remember anything that indicates hostility against other nations.
