It most certainly is. Humans along with most mammals evolved great diversity just in the last 65 million years. A billion years? Hell there will likely be several branches from homosapians. THis is especially true if we send humans to different places in closed ecosystems. I know we are getting into Fermi Paradox issues but the truth of it is humans as we know them today will not exist a billion years from now.
