I was a libertarian and then an ancap for a short period of time. I realized that it was escapism and that the only people who believed in such ideals of "liberty" were white people. Then I realized exactly the position such ideals put us in. Demography is destiny and arguing about who will pay for roads with other white idiots while the nation circles the drain is counterproductive. All politics is identity politics, there is a reason people talk demographics when discussing politics. My people have really been sold on this false individualism though, while all other people are tribal.

I would say I switched from philosophical to practical in my politics.

In an ideal world, on paper or in the mind, libertarianism would work.

In the real world, that's not the way humans work.

It's not unlike communism in this regard. It's funny to heat apologists for capitalism argue "not real capitalism" just like the commies argue "not real communism". 😄

@MashedPixels AnCap is the non-aggression principle taken to it's natural extreme. Libertarianism is a half measure that is not principled. If you believe in non-aggression then you end up AnCap. Put another way, libertarians are slightly more practical people that half way support non-aggression.
