The link to this discord is public. That's always going to open you up to attack by spammers. It's something you have to accept for having it public.

The rational way to deal with it is by having staff in enough time zones so there's someone available at all times.

Other more backwards servers instead treat their users like criminals that must be carefully reigned in.

You can get a bot for the server that manages some tasks. Some of them let you automatically add users to a certain role, say after 24 hours. You could do this to strip away things like the ability to post links completely from brand new users but that everyone automatically gets after a day. It might not seem like much but that'd stop almost all spammers because they don't have the patience for that. But any legit users can endure a day.
