the victim should also be the arbiter of the punishment

2019-02-16 08:46:01 UTC

not the arbiter in proving it occurred obviously

2019-02-16 08:46:08 UTC

but in the punishment they should decide what level of punishment is given

2019-02-16 08:46:26 UTC

For instance if someone has stolen from me

2019-02-16 08:46:39 UTC

I should have the option to tell the government not to pursue the perpetrator if I choose to do so

2019-02-16 08:47:01 UTC

so let's say the maximum penalty for assault is death

2019-02-16 08:47:02 UTC

THat makes sense.

2019-02-16 08:47:11 UTC

I should be able to decide from no punishment to death, what punishment he receives (reasonably)

2019-02-16 08:47:25 UTC

of course you shouldn't be able to enslave them

2019-02-16 08:47:47 UTC

But if someone assaults me and I demand compensation that should be an alternative I can choose instead of prison time

2019-02-16 08:47:54 UTC

because prison time does not actually rectify how I've been wronged at all

2019-02-16 08:48:23 UTC

It merely serves to deter future criminals not to write the wrong that has been done to me

2019-02-16 08:48:40 UTC

Of course I'm just talking in extremes theoretically right now

2019-02-16 08:48:50 UTC

but in general I think you should be the arbiter of the punishment as the victim

2019-02-16 08:50:29 UTC

Also there should be no protection for people who assault others tbqh

2019-02-16 08:50:38 UTC

current self-defense laws are slave morality garbage

2019-02-16 08:50:45 UTC

if someone attacks you, you should be able to summarily execute them

2019-02-16 08:50:59 UTC

same for intruders to your home

2019-02-16 08:58:02 UTC

@CronoSaturn 1. Martyrs only matter when your goal is to solve the conflict diplomatically... but this conflict can't be solved diplomatically. 2. "Dreadful life in prison" of a "bitch who’ll eat out half the cell block for a cup ramen" is a fairy tail. That is not how western prisons operate.

2019-02-16 09:02:09 UTC

Martyrdom is actually more important when it’s not able to be settled diplomatically as your creating a standard bearer and drawing opposition. You don’t want to do that. Terrorism relies on creating an overreaction and recruiting otherwise moderate actors.
Also I have no idea how you don’t think people can’t be prison sluts in the west or have a shit time of it

2019-02-16 09:02:41 UTC

Do you lads actually trust any government to put people to death

2019-02-16 09:02:58 UTC

the false conviction rate is too high

2019-02-16 09:03:09 UTC

Well to a degree, the cops and the military must be able to do so to function

2019-02-16 09:03:19 UTC

>american cops

2019-02-16 09:03:25 UTC

lick those boots BOY

2019-02-16 09:03:37 UTC

Blow job better than no job

2019-02-16 09:03:49 UTC

the enforcer caste should be kept under lock and key

2019-02-16 09:04:04 UTC

How are they not atm

2019-02-16 09:04:07 UTC

or you get the current situation where the police think they are shepherds

2019-02-16 09:04:21 UTC

and adopt a shepherd mentality of superiority to the general public

2019-02-16 09:04:44 UTC

Ideally a country would be so decentralized such a culture could not develop

2019-02-16 09:04:45 UTC

You get that in any area of expertise.

2019-02-16 09:04:55 UTC

are plumbers infringing upon my rights

2019-02-16 09:05:16 UTC

that's true regarding compsci faggots and engineers though

2019-02-16 09:05:17 UTC

When they do a shit job and don’t clean up after themselves yeah

2019-02-16 09:05:35 UTC

It’s true regarding any deeply specialised profession

2019-02-16 09:05:35 UTC

high level STEM lads have a superiority complex over the general public

2019-02-16 09:05:39 UTC

and it's far worse than cops

2019-02-16 09:06:06 UTC

the problem with the current system is that we protect the police when they do wrong

2019-02-16 09:06:17 UTC

Do we?

2019-02-16 09:06:20 UTC

people's courts are sometimes necessary to keep the government in line
