sorry

2017-03-11 23:48:29 UTC

but he learned that it also gives him attention from my parents

2017-03-11 23:49:01 UTC

so he sometimes does it intentionally, considering he can't talk well or show emotion normally

2017-03-11 23:49:26 UTC

but that's what my parents say

2017-03-11 23:50:32 UTC

Idk why he does it, I know the Neurologist is right, but the times where he seems like he intentionally does it, Idk

2017-03-11 23:52:10 UTC

"Early speech or behavioral interventions can help children with autism gain self-care, social, and communication skills."

2017-03-11 23:52:33 UTC

he's 18

2017-03-11 23:53:08 UTC

Great, now I'm the dick

2017-03-11 23:53:08 UTC

when our dog died this started happening

2017-03-11 23:54:15 UTC
2017-03-11 23:54:19 UTC

that is never fun

2017-03-11 23:54:31 UTC

well

2017-03-11 23:54:50 UTC

guess the "help" we're getting is fucking shit

2017-03-11 23:55:21 UTC

PTSD can't be easily dealt with, and neither is Autism.

2017-03-11 23:55:29 UTC

Don't think PTSD would give a person speech issues

2017-03-11 23:55:47 UTC

I'm not talking about autism

2017-03-11 23:55:47 UTC

No he is Autistic, but he has another issue to

2017-03-11 23:56:30 UTC

PTSD caused by the loss of a close pet or family member. Total suckage

2017-03-11 23:56:34 UTC

but the thing that has me pissed is my family won't help calm him down when he does that

2017-03-11 23:56:56 UTC

Yeah, most people aren't equipped to deal with that

2017-03-11 23:56:59 UTC

Are you calming him down?

2017-03-11 23:57:14 UTC

I Fucking tried

2017-03-11 23:57:28 UTC

they're calming him now

2017-03-11 23:57:43 UTC

Physical touch sometimes helps, distractions can work. Nothing is guaranteed

2017-03-11 23:57:46 UTC

but at the beginning they let it happen

2017-03-11 23:58:33 UTC

I've found with autism it best to let them have there tantrum but this isn't autism is it

2017-03-11 23:58:43 UTC

Is something causing it?

2017-03-11 23:59:16 UTC

generally getting them away from what ever is causing it can help

2017-03-11 23:59:34 UTC

Can't run from trauma

2017-03-11 23:59:52 UTC

he already established it was autism Hun

2017-03-11 23:59:53 UTC

Is this trauma based

2017-03-12 00:00:03 UTC

@Husky - keep up

2017-03-12 00:00:10 UTC

PTSD wouldn't really cause this

2017-03-12 00:00:26 UTC

Started after the death of a dog.

2017-03-12 00:00:40 UTC

This is a new behavior we are being told

2017-03-12 00:01:00 UTC

Wouldn't necessarily make it PTSD

2017-03-12 00:01:27 UTC

As someone with high functioning autism and has attended a school for the austistic these are things I'd see been acted out regularly

2017-03-12 00:02:43 UTC

I'm around those with autism and the such when I'm working

2017-03-12 00:02:54 UTC

they love to bowl

2017-03-12 00:03:01 UTC

I never said it definitely was PTSD btw - just that a new symptom of self-harm in an 18 year old that starts after the death of a pet is consistent with PTSD.

2017-03-12 00:03:17 UTC

Usually it's when he's told something he doesn't like
