That's an autistic thing isn't it ?
Well
the Neurologist said it was a Neurological problem
No - autism isn't defined at all by self harm
I know a lot of austistic people and a lot of them do that when the strested
thought you were just shitposting
sorry
but he learned that it also gives him attention from my parents
so he sometimes does it intentionally, considering he can't talk well or show emotion normally
but that's what my parents say
Idk why he does it, I know the Neurologist is right, but the times where he seems like he intentionally does it, Idk
"Early speech or behavioral interventions can help children with autism gain self-care, social, and communication skills."
he's 18
Great, now I'm the dick
when our dog died this started happening
Very much PTSD symptom
http://www.ptsd.va.gov/public/problems/self-harm.asp
that is never fun
well
guess the "help" we're getting is fucking shit
PTSD can't be easily dealt with, and neither is Autism.
I'm not talking about autism
No he is Autistic, but he has another issue to
PTSD caused by the loss of a close pet or family member. Total suckage
but the thing that has me pissed is my family won't help calm him down when he does that
Yeah, most people aren't equipped to deal with that
Are you calming him down?
I Fucking tried
they're calming him now
Physical touch sometimes helps, distractions can work. Nothing is guaranteed
but at the beginning they let it happen
I've found with autism it best to let them have there tantrum but this isn't autism is it
Is something causing it?
generally getting them away from what ever is causing it can help
Can't run from trauma
he already established it was autism Hun
Is this trauma based
@Husky - keep up
PTSD wouldn't really cause this
Started after the death of a dog.
This is a new behavior we are being told
