No he is Autistic, but he has another issue to
PTSD caused by the loss of a close pet or family member. Total suckage
but the thing that has me pissed is my family won't help calm him down when he does that
Yeah, most people aren't equipped to deal with that
Are you calming him down?
I Fucking tried
they're calming him now
Physical touch sometimes helps, distractions can work. Nothing is guaranteed
but at the beginning they let it happen
I've found with autism it best to let them have there tantrum but this isn't autism is it
Is something causing it?
generally getting them away from what ever is causing it can help
Can't run from trauma
he already established it was autism Hun
Is this trauma based
@Husky - keep up
PTSD wouldn't really cause this
Started after the death of a dog.
This is a new behavior we are being told
Wouldn't necessarily make it PTSD
As someone with high functioning autism and has attended a school for the austistic these are things I'd see been acted out regularly
I'm around those with autism and the such when I'm working
they love to bowl
I never said it definitely was PTSD btw - just that a new symptom of self-harm in an 18 year old that starts after the death of a pet is consistent with PTSD.
Usually it's when he's told something he doesn't like
or something works him up
That's a trait I see in autism quite a lot
Well, I wish him the best
we get people with down syndrome and stuff at our bowling alley
thank you
Yea
We get the ones with Down syndrome, autism and the such
I know a kid who would Inact something similar whenever a tv with a yellow main charter was mentionrd
they're all generally pretty well behaved
Depends
yeah
I am one
I was adding on to my previous statement
the ones I deal with are generally well behaved and very nice. There's one that comes regularly that will lash out sometimes
Starts kicking equipment, yelling, hitting his care taker
Anyone want a Steam key for Space Run Galaxy? I'm not interested.
