Murder means that there is evil intent behind the act. What if you kill in self defence, or to protect the life of another?

As I believe in the Bible it states you may kill only when necessary to protect you or your family.

From what I understand, the bible states three justified killings:
1 - due consequence for crime
2- in warfare
3 - intruder in the home
