Am I the only one noticing some weird targeted ads from youtube and google related shit in general? I've noticed things I talk about in discord dms or speak about IRL are showing up as ads

Just asked my mom what she was watching about an hour ago. It was the purge. I didnt search anything related to that, or type anything. But youtube started randomly giving me recommendations for it as videos

I've heard lots of stories like that. No doubt they're eavesdropping on people's shit

I probably miss a lot since I have adblock at least on my PC. But sometimes they still show up and almost everytime they're creepily targeted

I have the exact opposit problem myself

its always the last thing I ever want to see

and its always the same damn ad again and again

I don't want to see them period 😅

as of late its some really fucked up anti smoking ad

and it shows up all the damn time

yea its one of those that tries to scare the shit out of you and then it flashes some stupid dont smoke message at the end

Or the ones with the really graphic videos of teenagers without their cheeks or whatever

I havent gotten anything that extreme as of yet

but its always the same damn ad over and over again

also I dont normally go protect the kids mode but the amount of times I've seen those ad's pop up on otherwise harmless kid freindly material is somewhat concerning

What makes me laugh is how many times youtube or any other platform have announced their "adblock smashing" update

And everytime within a day, adblock has a new update that bypasses it all

aye. nobody wants them to smash adblock anyway

For the channels I like I just add them to the list of sites not to block

I dont have it on my phone, I consider that good enough

Computer time is relax time, ads can fuck off
