I'll discuss more later.
Okay
I read the symposium, by many considered the main work by plato, it literally is a conversation about love by the intellectuals of his era. Both in Italian and ancient Greek. Now I asked the question to you too, what did you read by plato? Also at least be consistent in your claims, don't compliment me 2 days before for then say I know nothing about ancient Greece "as expected"
well not that you don't know but you completely misunderstand the texts and what plato and the other ancient philosophers said on the 'same sex relationships'
nowadays it's automatically viewed/referred to sexual perversions
which was not true in the ancient times
in fact I don't even belief they had a concept of 'sexuality' in the ancient times like we do today
in the perverted modern world
yeah translations often are iffy
Like pederasty is translated to fucking boys
When in those days it was more like a teacher student thing iirc
you damn Greek mf stop spamming the damn chat
fuck off cunt
you're not part of this conversation faggot
Okay let's calm down though
Let's fight
fucking retarded kids having their inputs unasked for
I'm having a serious conversation
and you decide to stick your fucking nose in
@ΕΘΝΙΚH ΑΝΤΙΣΤΑΣΗ I remember sending you an book debunking faggotry in Greece and you shut it down since it was written by a libtard smdh
What’s the difference between a Greek and a pedophile?
what book? I don't remember doing that
@ΕΘΝΙΚH ΑΝΤΙΣΤΑΣΗ some shitfest about greeks being gay
It was written by a liberal parliament member but still was anti gae
send it again in DMs because I legit don't remember
oh right Adonis?
I think you're mistaking me for someone else or idk, that was when I was having a political spergout about adonis being an ND shill and whatnot
I think I already read some parts of it
Sent
yeah I don't remember you sending me that
but I seen it before anyways
It's a good book
Uses ancient greek sources only.
Well you're right about pederasty. @ΕΘΝΙΚH ΑΝΤΙΣΤΑΣΗ even though most modern historians consider it a close teacher-learner relationship which also had homosexual shades. I can understand not trusting them because of propaganda, as I do too, the problem here is that plato explicitly refers to λακκόπρωκοι if I'm not mistaken, which only makes sense as homosexuals in the context on what he'a saying. I remember explaining you this as well some time ago, maybe it was @Pelkių monstras and basically they describe exactly what is the state of homosexuality in the various πόλεις in fact some considered it acceptable while others didn't. But mostly they associate the places in which it is not accepted with the adjective βάρβαρος in fact they also distinguish homosexuality from a pederast relationship.
And we're talking about 400 b.C. here
What did you read about Plato though, I'm actually curious
@anthr0pos I read several things about what Plato said on homosexuality in the Symposium, but if you go to the 'Laws' and the 'Republic' part in book VIII you will find that he condemns homosexual intercourse because it renders men unfit for marriage and that it's contrary to human nature.
Good shit
Plato was based af.
