How the market works

2019-10-30 00:05:09 UTC

nope

2019-10-30 00:05:11 UTC

regulation

2019-10-30 00:05:25 UTC

Regulation sure

2019-10-30 00:05:31 UTC

Likema digital bill of,rights

2019-10-30 00:05:48 UTC

you dont really need regulation... at least not new regs

2019-10-30 00:05:48 UTC

and preventing them buying up companies that give them monopolies and vertical integration

2019-10-30 00:05:53 UTC

But I was talking about how to combat it right now

2019-10-30 00:07:01 UTC

just label them as platforms .... or if they chose to ban/block people then they are publishers, and everything on their website comes from them ... and they are responsible for every word

2019-10-30 00:07:26 UTC

Yep I agree label them all platforms

2019-10-30 00:07:35 UTC

no dont label them...

2019-10-30 00:07:41 UTC

thats authoritarian

2019-10-30 00:07:46 UTC

Thousands of hours of content uploaded every day its hard to call them publishers

2019-10-30 00:07:47 UTC

they should have the choice

2019-10-30 00:08:01 UTC

Oh yeah fair point

2019-10-30 00:09:34 UTC

I imagine sites like redit would grow... where they basically let the userbase rank things so what gets shown is pretty much up to the will of the crowd

2019-10-30 00:10:47 UTC

Well is that how it works now though

2019-10-30 00:11:43 UTC

sort of... except reddit can outright ban/suspend any subreddit.... Im no expert tho I dont use reddit

2019-10-30 00:13:20 UTC

Alright I don’t use it that often either, I don’t think reddit is that bad on censorship, it tends to ban subreddits where users incite violence, Reddit as a whole is very progressive left auth leaning, even none political subs

2019-10-30 00:13:56 UTC

Twitter and Facebook are the worst for banning people

2019-10-30 00:14:55 UTC

outside of social media corporate malfecance is an issue

2019-10-30 00:15:11 UTC

they agitate for open borders and worse pay+conditions, and don't pay taxes

2019-10-30 00:16:36 UTC

That’s definitely why all the political elite is pro open borders, open borders benefit big companies they don’t benefit the voters, doesn’t benefit society

2019-10-30 00:17:16 UTC

The argument that open borders is libertarian is stupid, libertarianism is big on property rights

2019-10-30 00:19:33 UTC

there's a difference in attitude, too, exemplified by "anywheres" vs "somewheres"

2019-10-30 00:20:05 UTC

that describes a set of people who are mobile and don't mind moving anywhere for work/opportunity, and those that have a sentimental tie to the area and culture that they were born into

2019-10-30 00:22:04 UTC

Which is why big international businesses and businessmen are so big on open borders

2019-10-30 00:22:19 UTC

Globalism will just lead to world tyranny

2019-10-30 00:26:50 UTC

i just got a begging email from the conservatives - they want cash

2019-10-30 00:27:25 UTC

i wont donate to activel sitting political parties while they're getting % salary rises i can only dream of

2019-10-30 00:32:06 UTC

Don’t see why they beg, they can get any big buisness they want to donate

2019-10-30 00:32:52 UTC

Having support of the little people is trendy these days

2019-10-30 00:33:02 UTC

Except when it comes to votes outside of GE/referenda. Then it's screw em

2019-10-30 00:37:11 UTC

it's a shame we cant get everyone to simply not vote

2019-10-30 00:37:17 UTC

not a single vote cast across the country

2019-10-30 00:37:39 UTC

Isn't there maximums or whatever? So they need as many pots as possible?

2019-10-30 00:37:54 UTC

they'd all lose their deposits, it would be glorious

2019-10-30 00:39:05 UTC

I wonder if 4chan could prank libdem types to not vote as a show of "resistance to Brexit" :p

2019-10-30 00:40:22 UTC

lol

2019-10-30 00:40:48 UTC

casting a vote is a dog whistle to nazis
