I imagine sites like redit would grow... where they basically let the userbase rank things so what gets shown is pretty much up to the will of the crowd

Alright I don’t use it that often either, I don’t think reddit is that bad on censorship, it tends to ban subreddits where users incite violence, Reddit as a whole is very progressive left auth leaning, even none political subs
Twitter and Facebook are the worst for banning people
they agitate for open borders and worse pay+conditions, and don't pay taxes
That’s definitely why all the political elite is pro open borders, open borders benefit big companies they don’t benefit the voters, doesn’t benefit society
The argument that open borders is libertarian is stupid, libertarianism is big on property rights
there's a difference in attitude, too, exemplified by "anywheres" vs "somewheres"
that describes a set of people who are mobile and don't mind moving anywhere for work/opportunity, and those that have a sentimental tie to the area and culture that they were born into
Which is why big international businesses and businessmen are so big on open borders
