The refueling and supply process can occur at any time and does not significantly hinder the operations of the task force
The reason that US has exclusively nuclear is they have to think of a way to spend the ridiculous budget the military gets
True, since they have 11 carriers <:pot_of_kek:544849795433496586>
But, most countries aren't America
Of course, it's a balancing act. For UK, non nuclear was the right choice.
I think the F-35B was as well
@Hopix There's running speculation that they deliberately changed the font to Comic Sans for hate Tweets
Rather than putting in a catapult and buying C's
F-35 is one giant mistake altogether.
I think the MOW is sensible to constrain their ambitions for now
Well, it's better than the harriers we were operating
And it's the best on the market that meets our requirements
Though, I'd love to see a UK designed aircraft to go on them
More military funding 😍
Once Brexit's restored us to our Imperial glory we can start spending big on the military
Not like UK had the money, time and spare diplomatic credit to ditch US with their failed lockheeb abomination and develop their own though...
Well, that's gonna require some annexations of former dominions
and some republics
That's the plan
War Plan Red has noted how extremely dependent the UK is on areas beyond the home islands
Before a study conducted during WWII, UK war planning evidently called for capitulation in the event that the home islands were blockaded
Well, the hope was economies of scale would lower the cost of the aircraft @leavethisbotnet
Which to an extent is happening
When you look at origional unit costs compared to today
But there were too many requirements from the US military on the aircraft
Developing our own planes would be stupidly expensive
It's *too* multirole.
The only countries that are buying F-35 are those that want to earn US good boy points.
Sadly true @Dubdogelmo
Well, the UK is developing its own new multirole aircraft
War Plan Red notes that the only things the UK home islands were self-sufficient in in the 1930's were fish, coal, iron, and some vegetables. Everything else required imports from the empire or abroad, and I don't think that situation has changed much
The Tempest program
Turkey pretty much bankrupted themselves trying to design their own fighter jet
But the UK has a pretty good arms industry atm
except the UK, I guess, who in their infinite wisdom built a CV that couldn't be used with anything other than F-35
before it turned out how shit F-35 is
A
