if you want a label
"your property is not your property" -communists
'Taking what business owners have worked for is not theft but paying workers agreed upon wages is theft'
theft is just whatever the people with the most guns decide it is
No it isn't
Theft has a pretty clear definition
Taking someone else's property
Who sets that definition? @The Electric Lizard
Is Theft
and what constitutes someone's property is decided by the people with the most guns
Society
or in older times people with the most horses
If a group of people with guns take property from those without it is theft
yeah but what makes it their property
They have proclaimed it to be theirs before others have
And have probably built things there
the fact that they were physically in possession of it?
what makes their claim legitimate? and what does it mean to "physically possess" something?
i mean do the koch brothers "physically possess" all of their oil wells?
They have said it before others have
What are you going to do about it?
Complain to the police?
holding something makes it your property?
Yes @Weez
Can't have them coming and violating my freedom by stopping me.
The State should only be maintained to keep the police and a justice system
Again, Minarchist State
The police violate freedom.
I thought you wanted to maximize freedoms?
I want Sane Maximum Freedom, That is why i am not an Anarchist
A society will fall into chaos without a justice system
A justice system reduces the freedom of everyone in that society
By restricting their actions
It's not infinite Freedom, It is as much freedom as possible while still maintaining an orderly and sane society
A reasonable society
the problem with the word freedom is that it doesn't really mean anything without some conception of the good by which conflicts are resolved
Freedom is simply the ability to do what you want
the "right" aisle of liberty generally approaches this by having some spook to rely on like transferable self ownership or whatever
It's just being able to do what you want
Can you own property? Then you have freedom
