oh, e3...

2019-09-17 22:02:41 UTC

what a circus you've always been.

2019-09-17 22:46:34 UTC

Hopefully it’ll be less cringe. Though the compilations are always fun

2019-09-17 23:22:18 UTC

EA Play is always a cringe fest

2019-09-17 23:31:21 UTC

What's going down here? Gen is being shitted up by hockeyfags

2019-09-17 23:39:03 UTC

I've been working on a D&D campaign for a while now, but I'm kind of stuck and need suggestions. I played a short session in the world I built last year but it fizzled out, and now I'm considering moving the world storyline forward 6 to 12 months, which would mean the further invasion of the undead into the land and the beginning of breakdown of order.

2019-09-17 23:40:00 UTC

Okay so question is: what kind of depraved shit would start happening once the supplies in local villages run dry since trade routes are cut off? What kind of unrest did you see in castles/cities during past eras when the poor class started starving?

2019-09-17 23:43:59 UTC

@TheBadfish Rape, Cannibalism, Looting, and Murder, I reckon

2019-09-17 23:44:04 UTC

at the very least, mass panic and murder

2019-09-17 23:45:16 UTC

Rape is limited to riots, so sure if there's a food riot, but that's just because of the riot. Lack of food doesn't auto = rape.

2019-09-17 23:46:05 UTC

Yes, but what if a family resists as you and your gang try to take their food?

2019-09-17 23:46:58 UTC

First comes hoarding. Then comes theft from all the food stores. Food riots ensue later. After its been put down and order restored comes kidnapping, as the homeless and small children begin dissapearing.

2019-09-17 23:47:33 UTC

You forget livestock too. I imagine people would probably try butcher monsters before people

2019-09-17 23:47:40 UTC

Bulette steak anyone?

2019-09-17 23:47:57 UTC

That however is assuming that the troops don't just coup you.

2019-09-17 23:48:08 UTC

Or the local leadership at least

2019-09-17 23:48:20 UTC

It very much depends upon the source of the food shortage

2019-09-17 23:50:18 UTC

*>time to deal with the Kobold den*
>they a problem?
*>No we're going to turn them into burgers*

2019-09-17 23:54:07 UTC

Well hell yeah guys those are good ideas

2019-09-17 23:54:39 UTC

Food riots in the city, that's a good one

2019-09-18 00:03:12 UTC

In a world with monsters it would be theoretically viable to just expell some of the men and tell them to come back with food, or not to come back at all.

2019-09-18 00:03:47 UTC

Villages would probably just be desolated though

2019-09-18 00:04:16 UTC

Food shortages would weaken them to monster attacks and doom them.

2019-09-18 00:09:37 UTC

Oh that's true, but then what if there's a contingent of men who refuse to go after a certain point? Could cause a riot in and of itself.

2019-09-18 00:09:44 UTC

This is giving me good ideas

2019-09-18 00:15:37 UTC

Depends upon the city. If I were to do it, Food riots come first, and later come the burger aqusition xenocide expeditions.

2019-09-18 00:16:04 UTC

Main thing is still what killed the food?

2019-09-18 00:16:49 UTC

Honestly that'd be a good time for some economic fuckery

2019-09-18 00:17:33 UTC

Lower prices for literally everything, except for food related supply's

2019-09-18 00:17:45 UTC

Body's become loot.

2019-09-18 00:18:31 UTC

Be a weird alternative mid game

2019-09-18 00:18:39 UTC

The final boss would be dotty

2019-09-18 00:19:05 UTC

A few family heirlooms enter the market on the cheap for fod

2019-09-18 00:24:55 UTC

hah fuck that's a brutal idea dude. The big thing that is hurting the supply chains is that it's a monarchical state with a resurrected paladin as its sole leader who has been alive for over 100 years and his body is starting to just give up. His forces more or less act as MPs for all settlements/cities in the nation and act as trade route guarantors. A lich (using some lesser vampire lords as essentially a front to hide his presence) is killing off much of the flora and fauna with large parties of weak undead animations and vampiric scourges in some tactically critical locations. The lich was at one time the partner of the ailing monarch but killed him after falling to the seduction of an evil god.

2019-09-18 00:25:58 UTC

So it's not like food wouldn't be available at all, but hunting would be significantly more dangerous than most people can handle and farms are tightly controlled by the crown, so the food that's available all gets divvied up in a psuedo-socialist monarchy paradigm and sent across the nation.
