only thing I can think of is that they were either absurdly outnumbered already which would make it easier, or they had manual control of the troops and went afk or something

And on top of that, most emulation software allows for it, so they had to add it in order to fully compete with them

I played enough old games to know that lack of saves and do-overs was a huge part of the challenge
