its greenhouse gases , co2 being one of the main contributors , methane and cfcs for example do far more damge and the planes in the sky

2019-09-24 00:02:48 UTC

sift through it yourself

2019-09-24 00:02:52 UTC

Look at China and India in that chart buddy boy

2019-09-24 00:03:04 UTC

life on earth will end when CO2 drops completely

2019-09-24 00:03:06 UTC

CO2 is barely a greenhouse gas though

2019-09-24 00:03:09 UTC

becasue of the brighter sun

2019-09-24 00:03:16 UTC

Water Vapor completely wrecks it in that role

2019-09-24 00:03:25 UTC

And we're ass at modeling that outside of like a week

2019-09-24 00:03:30 UTC

even within a week we're bad at it

2019-09-24 00:03:58 UTC

the us has stopped actively reducing , trump after all did drop out of the paris climate agreement

2019-09-24 00:04:00 UTC

@Eirshy Co2 contributes to the greenhouse effect which isn't actually a bad thing, it's bad when it runs out of control and humanity isn't anywhere near those levels

2019-09-24 00:04:21 UTC

@Gservator Does contribute, sure, but not a significant contributor

2019-09-24 00:04:24 UTC

@James Connolly the Paris agreement just gave India and China more room to pollute you dimwit

2019-09-24 00:04:35 UTC

>Believing the Paris Accord did literally anything

2019-09-24 00:04:38 UTC

unless the US deploys futuristic coal powerplants that can match nuclear power output i'm not seeing much changing

2019-09-24 00:04:41 UTC

Wew fucking lad

2019-09-24 00:04:53 UTC

I'm not a climate denier, i just remember that several people have told me the world would end 4 times by now

2019-09-24 00:05:07 UTC

even NASA came to say that halting all emissions won't do shit to stop it

2019-09-24 00:05:33 UTC

i amnt trying to excuse china or india here , you just trying to shift your personal responsibility

2019-09-24 00:05:36 UTC

I miss when they were saying we were gonna enter an ice age by 2013

2019-09-24 00:05:38 UTC

Hell, people have been doomsaying with climate change since at least the 70's

2019-09-24 00:05:44 UTC

the solution lies in a different approach

2019-09-24 00:05:50 UTC

i think there was even one in the 50's or so

2019-09-24 00:06:11 UTC

you know the climate people dont mention anything about china or india or developing africa

2019-09-24 00:06:13 UTC

a combination of phasing out gas engines and artificially cooling the earth down

2019-09-24 00:06:14 UTC

thats shady

2019-09-24 00:06:22 UTC

good luck with the second

2019-09-24 00:06:33 UTC

they make it out as if its the 1% emission contributors that are evil and must stop immediately

2019-09-24 00:06:41 UTC

maybe read some scientific papers because no scientist have been saying the world was going to end 4 times since the 70s that were peer reviewed

2019-09-24 00:06:42 UTC

no, its because those countries will laugh at you and then redouble their polution just to fuck with you

2019-09-24 00:06:44 UTC

@James Connolly the Paris Accord had no fangs for enforcement. Dropping out of it doesn't mean there's gonna be no reduction just like being in it doesn't mean there will be a reduction. But on top of that the pollution contribution of the entire western world *combined* is *minuscule* compared to China and India.

2019-09-24 00:07:08 UTC

have you seen the shots of smog in china?

2019-09-24 00:07:24 UTC

the paris accord is a verbal agreement. has nothing to do with action

2019-09-24 00:07:25 UTC

@James Connolly my countries Co2 emmissions equal 1.6% of total global emissions, I'm not shifting responsibility, I'm pointing at who is really to blame or are you really that thick?

2019-09-24 00:07:25 UTC

western world combined has as much as china and india what are you on ?

2019-09-24 00:07:36 UTC

the way the media portrays the current climate change is something like ``` IF YOU EAT MEAT THE EARTH WILL TURN INTO VENUS```

2019-09-24 00:07:39 UTC

absolutely bonkers

2019-09-24 00:07:52 UTC

what country is that then?
