we were making the point that we were trying to end slavery from the beginning
but that it wasnt as easy as just making it law
Monica is a female , dont expect much
since most of the slave owners also had private armies we couldnt fight
My point was it took a lot of effort to overcome the simplistic system of master and slave
Females have periods
so we built a coalition and changed popular opinion
Also that’s not their point
And to create individualism
Keep track of a timeline
until we had just enough power to do it at great cost
Give me one argument against slavery
And a lot of reasoning behind it is modern
and made it our first order of business
abraham lincoln was the first republican president
From your "philosophical" take I can only gather that you claim slavery to not be neccesarily morally wrong in the given and pre-determined parameters of the philosophy thought preceding the "current" one
Which is uber vague in of itself
slavery is evil
No it's not
all humans are made in the image of god
@Snake I think that is mostly because people find it insulting when somebody judges the past from a modern framework.
It's only evil when my people is enslaved
How is slavery evil
But when it's others, it's perfectly fine
apparently you cant disagree with ancient peopoles ideals
oops
I am of the opinion that might be because she has a personal stake in slavery being a bad thing.
No I know slavery is wrong my point is the way we think of it is a modern issue.
@Andrew Popa 2.0 in a society that doesn't have the tools and innovations necessary to effectively organize originally foreign labour force without slavery whilst avoiding large risks to the society itself (risks that might result in societal collapse or long civil wars, resulting in many dead)
Again, extremely vague, what do tou even mean by that?
that is how we evolve
Because making moral judgements of the far past is useless
Someone in 1780 would have a harder time making a coherent argument against slavery than someone now.
Do you mean modern practices and cases of slavery?
The modern and contemporary view on slavery?
