Isn't the Japanese suicide rate mostly an elderly problem though?

Japanese are pretty badly over worked in those office jobs also, they have a job culture there- you can't leave until your boss leaves, not uncommon to work a 16 hour shift
Yeah, the Japanese aren't breaking down though even though their work-life balance is shit. Most of them just continue grinding away at their jobs.
@Timeward hush now docter
If Japan had a better work life balance, which would have to be dealt with mostly from the top (corporations, government), things would be pretty fantastic.
eh
if you can get over the other kinks
they are very collectivist
not necessarily a bad thing
but it would be uncomfortable living there if you arent used to it
Expensive apartments and very tiny
*sips-... oldschool timeward was best timeward
ii assume youd get bored of the food soon too
The problem is that corporations only focus on the next quarter's earnings, so the long term health of the workforce isn't given that much consideration. Corporations are quite happy to work their employees to death for little to no pay, and have them die childless at the age of 80, because that's not going to cut into their bottom line for at least a couple of decades.
Then of course there's the "tragedy of the commons" bullshit.
Ya luci, also the quantities for the amount you pay is dismal, you will never get enough calories
no time to cook a lot after a long day at work
@Comando ill enjoy ur cancer chat later when i can talk. you can enjoy being a cumdumpster
"Tragedy of the commons" = If your workers don't have kids, and they work long hours for low pay, your business makes a lot of extra profits over the years because children tend to be productivity killers and if your worker's health starts to decline you can always find new workers.
Problem is when everyone does that, society goes tits up in a couple of decades. You end up with a bunch of seniors who need care, not enough working class people to support them, and the problem is only getting worse with every passing year because birth rates have been shit for decades and nothing you do seems to reverse the problem.
