Silly
what are they defining as a quantum computer lul
theyre just ordinary computers that go fast
So Google claimed it made one that performs "a calculation ttatd take normal comps millennia"
A computer that has non-distinctive binary code recognition
But they kinda retracted the claim
The point at which we can actually make calculations with them that are useful is probably close
Even though it runs using the principles that makes the computer a quantum computer?

A computer, the calculations done by which are derived from quantum fluctuations as opposed to electrical binary
you mean its probably far away as fuck
Uses Qubits but ain’t quantum
Yes Sam, that
It’s close Luci
You can't just have a 'fast computer' and call it a quantum computer
Not like tomorrow close but
They're fundamentally two different things
unless google is lying
like they always do
lol
Which runs on different principles
Of course they are
IBM isn’t lying
@Samaritan™ okay those numbers are literally just Google doing some math in excel
But in which direction
@lunemarie like how fusion is only 20 years away?
xD
Maybe
Because you can use IBMs
We said fusion was 20 years away 20 years go
@Samaritan™ their quantum computer isn't even functional enough to do that
The article isn't exactly from a trustworthy source
"IBM Q System One is the world's first-ever circuit-based commercial quantum computer, introduced by IBM in January 2019"
We keep coming close to a breakthrough on fusion, and fucking up and finding a new wall
But it works as a good hypothetical
"designed by UK-based Map Project Office and Universal Design Studio and manufactured by Goppion"
**RULE BRITTANIA**
Unless you have another example to point to
