Same caliber but auto pistols they'd have hit less times.
They needed better training and something bigger.
Also "sawed off" is dumb. Just makes the shotgun spray wider (less energy into target, more missed shots that are a danger to bystanders) and being shorter makes it easier to conceal. It doesn't make it more powerful.
Use a regular shot gun. 12-guage with slugs has enormous stopping power already. If you absolutely need the cone, use buckshot and set the choke wide.
auto depends on distance
of course its less accurate
but if its within 10 feet
easier to dump
if its further.....
