They can kick me out of this place over my dead body
Highest hill is the best hill to die on.
It's also easier to defend high ground. Great strategy all around
Indeed, @nimble_newt. One of the greatest benefits to renting is you pay less over the course of your lifetime, given you no longer have to reinvest into the asset to maintain market-value, not to mention the gain of labor mobility, able to move at the drop of a dime, something one can't do with a house.
Yep. Col. Chamberlain used that to his benefit.
@Jeremy But there are benefits to investing in real estate. It can really pay off if you play your cards right and get a good location
If you're in a financial situation congruent with a mid-career laborer or better.
The world has changed a lot too. My first apartment had 2 bedrooms and was 350 a month. This apartment has one bedroom and is over 500.
Oof
Certainly the best way to do it is by purchasing the property, then renting it out to pay off most of the mortgage, while you live elsewhere. That is the best way to retain a property for personal use over the long-term.
When I was younger, I considered living in an RV.
Probably best you didn't
They're treated like vehicles and never gain value
Yeah.
...but I'd have saved so much money on gas. LOL
Yeah, a few years ago I was renting out a single bedroom, via sublease, for $650/mo. And, I had to share the apartment with the idiot upstairs.
72 hour shift? That's cool. I'm already parked at work.
Oh yeah. I've heard people complain about 10 hour shifts. I giggle.
I've worked those before when I was on the docks, they're not too bad as long as you know it's coming
That's true.
I'd pull a 72 every week. 3 days on, 4 off, 3 on, 4 off.
Pay was good. Felt ragged after 6 months though.
I like setting up my schedule for 2 15s and a 12, have most of the week off
Right.
Insomnia is a superpower in the corporate world
That, it is.
Ikr?
No need for caffeine or the crashes which ensue consumption; you're already awake around the clock.
and you're a psychopath!
win win
EMS life, Jeremy.
So, during.
Jfc
Pretty much, I like to think I have decent morals for a potential psychopath tho
I can't even imagine doing those hours.
I'm such a pussy.
I've only barely experienced anything like that when I interned on a rig
And that was miserable
Good money though
