you'd need generations just to get the population
Yeah, so?
This isn't a short term solution.
that's very apparent redneo
you didn't counter my point about it requiring more than a single generation
I am confuse
There are no single-generation fixes.
u cant make such long term projects in current ruling system
You can
u want ppl who have 8 years in power to make plans for generations?
You don't have to make plans for generations
u need monarchy or something like that to make such long term plans
In fact its probably better to readjust every 10 years or so
But you'd need to work it through a well structured team with principles and long term goals
extremely so
tbh, the modern west has gotten a lot better in the past 100 years, even more drasticly in the last few years
the problem is the global systems
Even if it isn't there isn't an argument against democracy with 30 or 50 year terms over monarchy
sure there is
that prevent long term solutions for a single culture or even a single community
but term limits are pretty gay
socially its falling apart
Goal is just to get a town of a few thousand people and start growing at a rapid clip. If you have an insular culture, never put up signs on any of the gas stations or restaurants, avoid talking to outsiders, you'll end up being known as this "unfriendly cult-like place that people would rather avoid."
Meanwhile you keep growing and growing.
inb4 u get waco'd
Nah, you don't need compounds. Just don't put signs on anything.
the mormons used to have their own independent state
@Arthur Grayborn you'd get invaded by neolib types wanting to exploit fertile lands with "economic growth"
Now the Mormon Church is one of the wealthiest organizations in the country.
this is only because the mormons as an ethnoreligious group are vastly superior to the rest of america
@Muten - Neolib types have already told the rural areas to go to hell, because they think the entire area should be surrendered to either nature or some farming robots.
@Tato maybe. and maybe thats a good thing. i certainly dont see any other society as more desirable. There never has been a nonfeminist society on this planet
though i suppose this could play into what you're getting at
Is Mormonism relatively new or am I thinking of something else?
@Arthur Grayborn those rural areas are simply just not profitable enough yet, but you are thinking bigger no?
ehh u got a wrong idea on past
Eventually it will become profitable
@Muten - If you've got an insular culture, they never will be profitable.
mormonism is from the early 19th century
Mid-1800s, if I'm not mistaken.
the 1800's are in the past you know
