what is so non-immersive about having an area of low danger areas around the start and then outside of this area bring the difficulty spikes?

2019-07-22 08:44:20 UTC

imagine playing vidya gaems

2019-07-22 08:44:24 UTC

wut a cuck

2019-07-22 08:45:27 UTC

it makes it feel like they newb protected the starter area to hit a wider audience

2019-07-22 08:45:55 UTC

instead of having the balls to just say no you're not meant to go here yet, unless you know what you're doing

2019-07-22 08:46:27 UTC

then take your bb-gun tier damage rifle and stumble into those lvl 30 death claw areas out the gate

2019-07-22 08:46:28 UTC

rewarding experienced players with later game gear for skill of overcoming hard enemies and keeping the world consistent

2019-07-22 08:46:44 UTC

@MeMSix you went the wrong way

2019-07-22 08:46:48 UTC

\because you didn't listen

2019-07-22 08:47:08 UTC

fortnite ripped off fallout 4s building mechanics

2019-07-22 08:47:11 UTC

you clearly have no idea what your doing so stick to the main quest until you learn how to play

2019-07-22 08:47:27 UTC

tell him muten

2019-07-22 08:47:33 UTC

go get him tiger

2019-07-22 08:47:55 UTC

it's not the game

2019-07-22 08:48:02 UTC

it's you

2019-07-22 08:48:18 UTC

>mem stopped typing

2019-07-22 08:48:23 UTC

nvm

2019-07-22 08:48:25 UTC

lmao

2019-07-22 08:48:47 UTC

it's like those people who blame darksouls when they don't know how to play

2019-07-22 08:49:08 UTC

imo, from a design standpoint it is more intuitive when you can generally determine difficulty by distance from that start rather than sudden spikes. So the player can make educated guesses about what areas they want to avoid and go to.

2019-07-22 08:49:21 UTC

ooooor

2019-07-22 08:49:29 UTC

you tell the player directly

2019-07-22 08:49:31 UTC

through NPCs

2019-07-22 08:49:33 UTC

where to go

2019-07-22 08:49:36 UTC

and where not to go

2019-07-22 08:49:45 UTC

and leave it up to the player

2019-07-22 08:49:53 UTC

to decide where to go

2019-07-22 08:50:03 UTC

if they aren't ready for the challenge

2019-07-22 08:50:11 UTC

they should be smart enough not to go the wrong way

2019-07-22 08:50:25 UTC

but that is boring because you feel like you are on rails until you get high enough level because of kill boxes blocking the other directions

2019-07-22 08:50:51 UTC

radius based scaling gives a sense of picking your own direction

2019-07-22 08:50:54 UTC

well that's the point of the first quest line, it's for players who don't know how to play

2019-07-22 08:51:04 UTC

the high level areas are for players who know how to play

2019-07-22 08:51:25 UTC

if you don't know how to play don't go the worng way

2019-07-22 08:51:34 UTC

stick to the main quest until you know what you're doing

2019-07-22 08:53:19 UTC

eh, overall wouldn't call NV a masterpiece when it comes to gameplay by any length. RPG elements are there, but the gameplay is copy paste from Fallout 3.

2019-07-22 08:53:37 UTC

yeah

2019-07-22 08:53:40 UTC

I can agree with that

2019-07-22 08:54:29 UTC

both games should be remade to use Fallout 4's gunplay and maybe also bring in its weapon customization.

2019-07-22 08:54:43 UTC

no
