there is no point in engaging in conventional infantry combat

2019-07-22 16:18:20 UTC

but the Russians did it in Ukraine

2019-07-22 16:18:32 UTC

because the whole point is to avoid too much escalation

2019-07-22 16:19:18 UTC

yeah
and there's no point in traditional pew pew guns for AA defense on vessels
but everybody started putting that shit back after Falklands happened

2019-07-22 16:21:04 UTC

so the gulf is 90m at deepest and 50m average

2019-07-22 16:21:14 UTC

that is _very_ shallow

2019-07-22 16:25:55 UTC

So, I'm hearing the Kyotoani studio fire was set by a feminist over a character not being a lesbian? Can anyone confirm?

2019-07-22 16:26:34 UTC

That's a new one for me.

2019-07-22 16:27:05 UTC

I heard about the guy screaming "they ripped me off"

2019-07-22 16:27:34 UTC

and the barisaku-kun theory (which seems to be false)

2019-07-22 16:28:18 UTC

I doubt it was a feminist.

2019-07-22 16:29:10 UTC

If so, it'd be funny

2019-07-22 16:29:42 UTC

So do I but I have someone insisting it was a feminist, the left has this kind of ground force in Japan Now, and they'll be able to get Japan and the Japanese entertainment industry to start bending the knee and conforming to woke BS before much longer.

2019-07-22 16:30:11 UTC

Funny would be it was a feminist, and Japan responds by banning feminium and treating them like that Japanese Cult Leader Dankula did a video about in his Mad Lads series.

2019-07-22 16:34:09 UTC

That said, so, do we have any signs that it was a Feminist? Or confirmation that it was not at all a feminist?

2019-07-22 16:36:25 UTC

I have not seen any indication
besides, why would them attack the most feminist-y studio?

2019-07-22 16:36:31 UTC

*they

2019-07-22 16:37:38 UTC

You'd think if they were going to do something like this they'd go after Shonen Jump or something. But then the sort of people who would do this at all are not known for being solidly rational in there thinking.

2019-07-22 17:00:47 UTC

So apprently his thing was that Kyotoani was feminist and there going to leverage this to spread feminisum.

I'm thinking this won't fly. The Japanese government will wipe that one in a hurry just on the grounds that Feminisum is bad for population growth and they want to get those birth rates rising.

2019-07-22 17:02:28 UTC

What do you guys think?

2019-07-22 17:03:12 UTC

Japan is based enough to try it.

2019-07-22 17:05:09 UTC

He's also claiming that there already having woman's marches in Japan and that there government is now considering mass immigration to try and solve the population problem.

I'm thinking He's just being a defeatist at this point, but, I'd be open to hearing if I'm being too optimistic.

2019-07-22 17:05:40 UTC

Has he SEEN what older Japs think about foreigners?

2019-07-22 17:06:46 UTC

They fucking HATE anybody who isn't the ROC, South Korea, or the major countries in mainland Europe or Mainland North America (especially us Americans, which I find pretty adorable)

2019-07-22 17:06:50 UTC

and even then....

2019-07-22 17:07:03 UTC

It's mostly the younger generations that like the west iirc

2019-07-22 17:08:31 UTC

And he's convinced it seems that the younger generations are going to do a fall of japan over time.

2019-07-22 17:08:46 UTC

I'm not even so sure about that

2019-07-22 17:08:59 UTC

even among the younger generations, an INCREDIBLY SMALL minority are massive lefties

2019-07-22 17:09:11 UTC

Probably smaller than in the USA, I think.

2019-07-22 17:12:58 UTC

So unless some sort of major social upheaval occurs, I don't think they're gonna go all Europe anytime soon

2019-07-22 17:14:01 UTC

The Feminists in Japan have much MORE important things to worry about than an arson attack upon an animation building

2019-07-22 17:14:32 UTC

(like allowing women to use their maiden names for work....and allowing them to wearing work-uniforms that DON'T have high-heels and skirts)

2019-07-22 17:16:57 UTC

Alright. So. They've got bigger issues to deal with, they've got smaller numbers, and an old guard that has no patience for them. I suppose the counter would be that much of that is true in the US as well, and were still having no end of problems because of them magnifying themselves by concentrating themselves in places of power (University's, governement, media, ext.) and using social media to make themselves seem more prominant than they actually are.

2019-07-22 17:17:42 UTC

Yeah

2019-07-22 17:17:54 UTC

their "old guard" is also SIGNIFICANTLY larger there than in Europe

2019-07-22 17:18:11 UTC

Something like 27% of their population is over 60

2019-07-22 17:19:40 UTC

@Metahuman1 I think there's also a cultural aspect that the Japs have that people in the USA and Europe don't have tbh

2019-07-22 17:20:06 UTC

Hmm, Yeah, but the problem is old guard do eventually pass, and the government is, again, at least considering mass immigration as a fix for the population problem.
