Honestly, it doesn't surprise my that Germans would come up with this kind of law.

Considering just how restrictive their custom market for cars are. You've got to have every component approved by a strict certification, after that, it's got to be checked over by a certified mechanic. And you're found without any of this needed certification when you're driving, your car is towed. Even if you're not a German resident and you're just passing through. And it's all out of safety.

It's funny. They want to implement that stupid law, but it's still legal here to cut the coils on your suspension to slam your car down fully. Do me an explain, please.

faster cars have better brakes because they legally need to IIRC, but usually people dont drive them to their maximum speed, so now almost everyone will still be going the speed limit just with a shittier braking system

Well, cars are expected to break within a certain distance here. Though, this distance was determined decades ago and now cars can half that distance without much effort thanks to the advancements in brake technology.

yeah, in UK the highway code states that at 70mph a car needs to stop within 244ft, which is pretty easy to get closer to half that for most modern, faster cars with better brakes and tyres
