You can't both be progressive and give equal freedom in decision making for all and be conservative and advocate saving your renowned political structure and habits. Can you get it?

You either give liberty to a bunch of fools hoping for the better, but preparing for the worst, or, you deny access to newcomers to your political institutions and decision making processes. You MUST CHOOSE either option, can't have both.

So as a real world example, modern Western countries just can not BOTH give everyone free access to their social institutions and save the aforementioned institutions.

If you want to save the institutions, you must limit the access to them, if you want to give equal rights to anyone, you can not save the very institutions that gave them this access.
