What about a cutlass?

2019-08-25 21:44:00 UTC

because people didn't wear fucking armor

2019-08-25 21:44:01 UTC

so yes

2019-08-25 21:44:04 UTC

most of european history

2019-08-25 21:44:07 UTC

swords straight

2019-08-25 21:44:11 UTC

rapiers were commonly a sidearm for generals for a large period of time

2019-08-25 21:44:12 UTC

curved swords come later

2019-08-25 21:44:13 UTC

@Lucienne d'Anwyl yes nigger, they're all beautiful. But older than curved, because of the whole difficulty in tempering.

2019-08-25 21:44:16 UTC

cutlasses and sabers

2019-08-25 21:44:20 UTC

Exactly

2019-08-25 21:44:20 UTC

straight swords > curved swords

2019-08-25 21:44:24 UTC

I wish a fair Princess would take my hand in marriage

2019-08-25 21:44:29 UTC

but most of european history

2019-08-25 21:44:32 UTC

straight swords

2019-08-25 21:44:37 UTC

double edged

2019-08-25 21:44:39 UTC

cause body armor became lesser and lesser

2019-08-25 21:44:45 UTC

yeah

2019-08-25 21:44:48 UTC

curved swords suck ass

2019-08-25 21:44:49 UTC

@juts kill nme Wish in one hand, shit in the other, then see which fills up first. <:pot_of_kek:544849795433496586>

2019-08-25 21:44:50 UTC

against armour

2019-08-25 21:44:54 UTC

curved swords are decent in areas where metal is hard to come by and the people arent smart enough to treat wood/leather properly

2019-08-25 21:44:56 UTC

@Tato Whips have literally never been used as combat weapons my dude. Even thick clothing would be adequate protection against it, and controlling it even without an opponent trying to bash your face in wasn't exactly easy. So no, whips aren't real weapons.

2019-08-25 21:44:57 UTC

in east it swords have always been curved cause not much armor

2019-08-25 21:45:04 UTC

so the middle east and the balkan-ish areas

2019-08-25 21:45:18 UTC

@Nahkasetä maybe like gladiators

2019-08-25 21:45:23 UTC

When I can, I'll be making my own sword a claymore, but with one side of the guard trailing up higher. This is to use it swung from the shoulder, and not the elbow

2019-08-25 21:45:23 UTC

@Kealor they didn't have armored units

2019-08-25 21:45:27 UTC

um tato

2019-08-25 21:45:31 UTC

@Nahkasetä whips have literally been used in georgia by nobles and know warriors

2019-08-25 21:45:31 UTC

east has had plenty of armour

2019-08-25 21:45:33 UTC

lol

2019-08-25 21:45:37 UTC

the fucking persians were known

2019-08-25 21:45:40 UTC

for their proto knights

2019-08-25 21:45:43 UTC

As a large sword is dumb to use from the elbow

2019-08-25 21:45:44 UTC

2019-08-25 21:45:47 UTC

2019-08-25 21:45:56 UTC

2019-08-25 21:45:59 UTC
