Broadly speaking there’s two kinds:
1) Adults attracted to prepubescent children
2) Adults attracted to sexually mature, yet underage, children.
We can deter type 2). They’re not crazy, they’re just bad. I believe they can be re-educated because. At the end of the day they aren’t broken. You’re supposed to be sexually attracted to sexually mature humans. But, since we live so long now, “childhood” has been lengthened into sexual maturity and that requires restraint on the part of adults. These sexually mature yet underage children don’t know better. Adults should know know better. We can *make* these adults know better.
Type 1) is a little trickier. They aren’t bad, they’re legit crazy. You aren’t supposed to be attracted to prepubescent children. They’re broken in a way that can’t be deterred and can’t be fixed. We we find them, life in prison without the possibility of parole should be the only sentence. With capital punishment (if your state allows it).
