@Snake I do agree, but the reason Government got involved with unions historically was for 2 good reasons. **Firstly** they needed to establish that Union membership wasn't something that you could be fired for. That was a common practice in the past, and Government action was needed to prevent company's union busting. **Secondly** when Unions were first set up a major concern was that they'd become communist institutions in all but name. How do you prevent this? Have an active hand in their running in order to prevent them becoming taken over by communists.
