And the EU won't add tariffs if the UK does a hard Brexit?
The UK will be trading with the EU on WTO rules
Didn't you say like...3 hours ago that the EU would place tariffs on UK goods?
Yes
Through the WTO
or by "they" were you referring to the WTO?
Yeah, I should have been clearer
The WTO
Sounds like the EU would be throwing a bit of a tantrum
alternatively, sounds like a spiteful GF
🤷🏻
Spiteful for sure, but justified tbh
How so?
We didn't honour our agreements
Which ones?
Why should we be treaded any differently?
WTO rules don't regulate or tax you. Pretty easy to make up the difference.
In regards to the 'divorce bill'
how so?
Currently as a member, we need to keep paying into the budget
And, as I pointed out before, losing access to UK markets is a substantial hit to German GDP. Bearing in mind their already in negative bond yields.....
Well, the EU isn't Germany
Though the Germans have influence in it

Isn't the EU mostly funded by Germany?
It might be 20 percent of the budget?
Tops
Isn't Germany the largest economy in the EU?
True, but the EU is made up of more member states, with combined have more power than Germany
Here's some things we'll be forced to pay money for
Oh I agree that the EU can shiv Germany by taking punitive action against the UK. That's not going to change the economics of a recession in the largest economy....
True
There's quite a bit of speculation around either a global recession or a EU regional one
What did Thatcher say about the problems with socialism?
I meant the bit about running out of other people's money. In this case the German's. So if you don't have UK and Germany is in recession whose money pays the EU? France? I mean Poland has been kicking ass but I doubt they'll go for that...
Socialism works until your neighbors broke
I hope the EU doesnt impose punitive tarrifs on the UK after she leaves, that would be a monumental mistake imo, but we'll see
I personally see no reason for them and I doubt any of the countries surrounding the UK would find them a good idea either. The coming barriers of trade and the entire Brexit chaos will cause enough damages to all surrounding economies.🙁
