Even if we don't have any evidence for that

2019-09-04 04:36:10 UTC

That sounds like a horrible message to me to teach kids

2019-09-04 04:37:03 UTC

Believe some unbacked claims without evidence... but not the others.

2019-09-04 04:37:22 UTC

@ETBrooD so is some guy in a lab coat saying the earth will be swallowed by the sun and the universe will die of heat death so embrace nihilism and modernity and fuck a tranny amirite?

2019-09-04 04:37:29 UTC

Yeah, like washing your left hand but not your right hand, because why not

2019-09-04 04:37:35 UTC

No, get the fuck off this rock @JoeyJoestar1337

2019-09-04 04:37:52 UTC

Uhm

2019-09-04 04:37:57 UTC

Whole universe out there, this place is bound to get boring

2019-09-04 04:38:03 UTC

Science has evidence for the heat death of the earth

2019-09-04 04:38:12 UTC

Not "a voice in my head that no one else heard"

2019-09-04 04:38:25 UTC

I ain't arguing that dude lmao

2019-09-04 04:38:33 UTC

But that's my point, it's about evidence

2019-09-04 04:38:36 UTC

Well the heat death is for the universe. Even that is under questioning, and is only theoretical, but it's the strongest one we've got.

2019-09-04 04:38:53 UTC

The heat death of the universe is one possible outcome, right now the big freeze is more commonly accepted

2019-09-04 04:39:00 UTC

But the idea is to find a way to beat it. Not just give in completely and just give up.

2019-09-04 04:39:18 UTC

We humans are clever fuckers.

2019-09-04 04:39:23 UTC

But what if you believe in the wrong thing because you don't use good evidence to justify your belief?

2019-09-04 04:39:29 UTC

Then you can just as well believe in anything

2019-09-04 04:39:41 UTC

Humans will not live to see heat death of the universe.

2019-09-04 04:40:07 UTC

Yeah, it's unlikely. The chance is there. Also there's the idea that it will occur so quickly, we wouldn't even know when it happened.

2019-09-04 04:40:31 UTC

Humans will be wiped out by nuclear war, meteor or Ebola-chan.

2019-09-04 04:40:43 UTC

Basically

2019-09-04 04:40:50 UTC

A good example are the recent Amazon fires

2019-09-04 04:40:51 UTC

Me voting Giant Meteor in the US elections these past 12 years hasn't helped much

2019-09-04 04:41:08 UTC

Especially considering that near-miss recently. Almost buddy, maybe next year.

2019-09-04 04:41:18 UTC

Next time vote Hillary. Vote for nuclear holocaust.

2019-09-04 04:41:26 UTC

Even actual scientists have started yelping about. "Ohhh the Amazon fires, they're terrible, do something, that president is crazy"

2019-09-04 04:41:28 UTC

Nah, too many will survive :^)

2019-09-04 04:41:30 UTC

Vote for meteor is a vote wasted.

2019-09-04 04:41:42 UTC

Turns out the evidence shows the Amazon is perfectly fine.

2019-09-04 04:42:01 UTC

Still a damn nasty fire, but California is just laughing.

2019-09-04 04:42:09 UTC

There's stuff beyond us in life that is the cause of us. You can tell me "what, how, when" and *MAYBE* "who" if we encountered aliens or anything (even though it doesn't completely state why we exist here now as we do but who knows maybe the aliens will tell us and we can be their docile servants). But you can't explain "why" and a motivation for humanity as a whole to advance, belief in God with or without, is predicated on the why.

2019-09-04 04:42:11 UTC

It's not a nasty fire at all, it's normal

2019-09-04 04:42:25 UTC

They just wanted a narrative against the current president

2019-09-04 04:42:35 UTC

@JoeyJoestar1337 Statement, statements, statement pulled out of your ass.

2019-09-04 04:43:05 UTC

Not dying is pretty good motivation

2019-09-04 04:44:29 UTC

If only Christfucks obeyed their mottos like "facts don't care about your feelings" and applied that to things they run with feelings on.

2019-09-04 04:44:58 UTC

Aggressive lol

2019-09-04 04:45:09 UTC

But at least not retarded.

2019-09-04 04:45:27 UTC

It's just about being consistent

2019-09-04 04:45:40 UTC

You can either use your faith to justify things, or you can use evidence. Not both.
