Observe, reason, hypothesize, come to a conclusion.

Looking out your window to see what the weather is is just an observation. If I wanted to do science I'd start tracking the weather and try making predictions through reasons of my experiments conducted and further tward my hypothesis. But with something like the weather it's very chaotic it changes from planet to planet and even if you were doing specifically for one planet one catastrophe could change the whole planet's atmosphere and destroy your research because any pattern you recorded doesn't exist anymore.

This is a typical misconception of what science is. You do not require to do very complex things to be doing science.

In fact science works best if you reduce the complexity.

Ah, but you had a problem to answer. You wanted to know what the weather was. You had some basis to go on with memory. Where was a place you could see the weather? You reasoned going to the window was likely a good idea, tested that hypothesis, and came to a conclusion as you came to the window, letting you see if there was an indication to the weather outside.

Then why aren't squirrels in the bronze age.

Because they lack the skills and the brain capacity for that.

Our brains consider these things far more rapidly than a lot of other creatures.

It's almost as if when you dream, at least to yourself because you know (pretty much at least when you wake up because thats then the "real" reality) you were dreaming, there's a Myriad of things to dream and within could change in an instant depending on whatever.
