I am good at shooting with both sides because I had my right eyesight far worse than the left

So with iron sights I'd use the left side

I am right-eye dominant, but that situation made me an ambidextrous shooter

It can be handy

I had my eyes fixed with LASIK meanwhile, so i can aim iron sights with any eye now

I also can transition between russian/soviet manual of operation and western without issues

one dictates that you hold the gun by the foreend and reload with your trigger hand
the other advocates for an opposite
