Don't double the cost of such a project by charging absurd access fees.

2019-09-05 18:55:01 UTC

this is the SAME when it comes to high profit incentives to DEVELOP drugs but also incentives to manufacture efficently; if you own the patent, you don't share it with all the manufacters

2019-09-05 18:55:09 UTC

so the price stays high

2019-09-05 18:55:20 UTC

I know you can't hear it, but on wallpaper engine I found a wallpaper that's just Carl screaming FABIAN on infinite loop. 10/10 https://gyazo.com/8ef36302a13ff218b7880eb5604cc446

2019-09-05 18:55:21 UTC

u CANNOT allow other lines

2019-09-05 18:55:33 UTC

You're acting like a single house couldn't have a choice of four or five different electrical lines to hook up to, where each line corresponds to a different power company.

2019-09-05 18:55:46 UTC

you have no CLUE how expensive and complicated it would make power disitribution

2019-09-05 18:56:05 UTC

Yeah, it's expensive. That's already a barrier.

Then we double the cost yet again through local fees and regs.

2019-09-05 18:56:14 UTC

Which means monopolies are all but guaranteed.

2019-09-05 18:56:24 UTC

technicallly not feasible because the interconnectivity of the grid is what makes it WORK

2019-09-05 18:56:42 UTC

no interconnectivy? no load sharing.

2019-09-05 18:56:57 UTC

I'm not pretending that if you allow new power companies, that everything will be peachy and everyone's gonna have five different electric companies to choose from. A large number of people are still going to be stuck with the original power company, and that's why the monopoly regs have to be kept.

2019-09-05 18:57:01 UTC

if we could store power, that would be different but then who would need a grid?

2019-09-05 18:57:10 UTC

power is 'on demand'

2019-09-05 18:57:23 UTC

it doesn't just sit on the grid until u use it

2019-09-05 18:57:25 UTC

2019-09-05 18:57:39 UTC

Yeah, it is on demand.

You adjust the power output accordingly.

2019-09-05 18:57:53 UTC

who adjusts output?

2019-09-05 18:58:00 UTC

It's not like you build a power plant and just run it on 100% all the fucking time.

2019-09-05 18:58:02 UTC

what timeline is this

2019-09-05 18:58:06 UTC

according to who's demand?

2019-09-05 18:58:11 UTC

my customers?

2019-09-05 18:58:16 UTC

or your customers?

@Napoleon Lee Scott watch your profanity

The power company should be monitoring their own lines, looking at how much electricity their customers are consuming, and then turning up or down the production at their power plants in accordance with the demands of their own electric grid.

2019-09-05 18:58:50 UTC

that isn't the way a grid works

2019-09-05 18:58:56 UTC

If they're not producing enough power for their grid, then they need to buy it from a rival company.

2019-09-05 18:58:58 UTC

@wacka this is some babylon bee shit

2019-09-05 18:59:10 UTC

no one company can provide enough constantly to meet their demand

2019-09-05 18:59:30 UTC

if they wanted to do so, they would throw a TON of power AWAY

2019-09-05 18:59:31 UTC

Not for the whole nation, no, but for a neighborhood or a small town absolutely.

2019-09-05 18:59:31 UTC

remember when the KKK used to go round saying sht like "I dont care if your black or not"

2019-09-05 18:59:44 UTC

"if they wanted to do so, they would throw a TON of power AWAY"

2019-09-05 19:00:07 UTC

You don't have to run your power plant at 100% all the fucking time.

2019-09-05 19:00:21 UTC

because the moment everyone decided to turn on the ac units, their grid would go offline due to lack of capacity

2019-09-05 19:00:28 UTC

u DO!
