look at it, it's a fucking LOD model
look at it, it's a fucking LOD model
fucking discord is being slow
@Nat Only if you are able to explain why.
Stop speaking geek.
the further you get away from an object in a videogame, the less detailed it gets ๐
because if every object in the game world had the highest detail version, your computer most likely couldn't handle it. ๐
the further away objects, when looked at up close, look terrible. like that tree does.
> Nat used confusion
> it's super effective
less polygons, less pixels in the texture
you can stylise and look cartoony, but even stylised and cartoony games have LOD models, which again, look worse than the models that are up close. ๐
does your feminoid brain comprehend it yet, fish market? ๐
does your feminoid brain comprehend it yet, fish market? ๐
Like, I get it that stuff that's closer to the player requires a better resolution, but how does that come into play?
the tree just looks like a LOD model, that was literally all i was saying. it looks awful, like something you're meant to only see in the distance where you can't tell how bad it is
So we agree that the tree looks bad?
That's not the point though.
"And? Apple v Orange. It's like saying Picasso is worse than Michelangelo because his paintings were less realistic."
you didn't say it looked bad
or the equivalent of, rather
but whatever, apparently we agree <:pepelaugh:544857300179877898>
there's no point arguing now
Fuck, turns out the addendum comment that the tree looks zero effort wasn't sent.
ah
Fuckin' computers.
fair enough discord is being super slow for me too
Still, the two games have different art styles, and with exception of the tree, there's nothing to compare, really.
Except the thing that really matters with games: gameplay.
damn, it actually looks better than I thought it would
it's a bit weird that what seems to be a big plot point is you looking for Eli Vance, given... yknow...
It's seemingly a prequel
it's a pre-sequel
after HL1, before HL2
15 years after HL2, they legit made HL1.5 lmao
