God, or not god
There's only god/god-like, or not god/not god-like
And atheistic religions have no god
Atheists by definition do not have a religion
Hello autism
No, they have no god, by definition
you fucking autist
All religions have a god
A being that *cannot possibly* be explained
It's *literally impossible* to use *natural means* to explain it
That's what makes something a supernatural being
Yes, but it doesn't make all supernatural beings gods
It doesn't, but atheists do not believe in anything that is supernatural, because that is the *realm* of gods
The supernatural is the home of the gods
The natural is the home of the earthly creatures
So it's impossible for atheists to believe in the supernatural
It would contradict everything they believe
An atheist is simply someone who does not believe in gods
No, not true
An atheist does not believe in *anything that is supernatural*
Discussion over
Damn, ad hom, you win clearly
Supreme victory for you 😄
"You're retarded and therefore your argument is wrong" == ad hom
"You're retarded, this discussion is pointless" != ad hom
learn what words fucking mean you mong
Oh now who's the autist 😄
Atheists are not a monolith, and just because some atheists claim that it's all about the belief in god and nothing else doesn't make it so
When you press any self-professed atheist on whether the supernatural exists or not, and if they say "yes it does", and you ask them to prove it, they'll all admit "I can't"
If you keep pressing, then this is the point where they start to relativize their belief in the supernatural, because they experience what is known as "cognitive dissonance", which is the discomfort felt by someone from the realization that they hold two conflicting beliefs.
1) I believe the supernatural exists
2) I don't believe God exists
The reason why those believes are conflicting is because it makes no rational sense to believe one, but not the other. If you believe in the supernatural then you must also at least be open to the idea that God also exists, because from a purely logical, reasoned point of view there's no difference between those two. If the supernatural exists, then it must also be possible that God exists, and there's no logical reason to say that "God does not exist"
Hence agnostic atheists sprung into existence, who say "I don't believe in God, but I can't prove that he doesn't exist". The reason this happen is, as explained, the self-professed atheists who do believe in the supernatural couldn't argue their way around the described problem.
This is when the atheist camp split. It split into those who argued that their peers who believe in the supernatural are just inconsistent in their reasoning, to which I fully agree.
Shock and horror, not all atheists agree with each other
so you're saying that atheists can believe in the supernatural?
No, I'm saying they're liars
you're so adorable
It's impossible for an atheist to believe in the supernatural, because it's completely inconsistent with the foundation of atheist thought
you're conflating Atheist with Materialist
Either they
A) believe in the supernatural
B) are atheists
Noth both
What?
Atheist = there is no god
Materialist = there is no spiritual/supernatural
And?
